Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a high-strength low-expansion alloy wire which is improved in twisting characteristics of the final product, by limiting roughness of the surface to 10mum or less at the final state of Fe-Ni alloy having >=100kg/mm.<2> tensile strength in its final using size. CONSTITUTION:This is a high-strength low-expansion alloy which is made by limiting the surface roughness to 10mum or less at the final state (Al, Ni or Zn covered Fe-Ni alloy core wire) of an Fe-Ni alloy wire having >=100kg/mm.<2> tensile strength in its final using size. This is a high strength alloy wire which is improved in its twisting value to 70-100 and its coefficient of linear expansion is 5X10<-6>/ deg.C or less at its final product (bare wire of Fe-Ni alloy or Al, Ni, Zn, etc., is plated or coated on the surface). This alloy wire is especially useful as the central part of overhead wires of low slackness.
