Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a drug suitable for a long time storage in case of pharmaceutical preparation of powder, by adding a nonionic surface active agent having a polyoxyethylene side chain to N4-acylcytosinearabinoside useful as a carcinostatic, followed by pharmaceutical preparation.
CONSTITUTION: Optionally in the presence of a vehicle (e.g., mannitol, dried crystallite cellulose, dried anhydrous silicic acid, etc.), N4-acylcytosinearabinoside useful as a carcinostatic having a low toxicity and prolonged effect is blended with a nonionic surface active agent having a polyoxyethylene side chain (e.g., polyoxyethylene fatty acid ester, polyoxyethylene hardened castor oil, polyoxyethylene castor oil, etc.) in an amount preferably 1/20W5 times that of the carcinostatic, and subjected to pharmaceutical preparation. By this metod, decomposition will never occur in case of pharmaceutical preparation of powder and the above-mentioned drug which can be preserved stably for a long time is obtained.
