Abstract
PURPOSE: To perform an efficient, dry-type treatment of the waste gas by a method wherein ammonia is added to the waste gas of coal combustion to conduct denitrification process, then sulfur dioxide in the waste gas is oxidized and reacted with dust component.
CONSTITUTION: The coal combustion waste gas contg. nitrogen oxides and sulfur oxides is first added with ammonia so that nitrogen oxides are subjected to denitrification process in a denitrification reactor 2. Then, the gas is guided into the SO2 oxidation column 3 and the sulfur dioxide in the gas is converted to the sulfur trioxide, which is absorbed by dust component to be fixed mainly as sulfate. This is guided into a dust collector 5 where the dust in the waste gas is removed along with sulfur oxide absorbed in the dust. In this manner, the coal combustion waste gas is efficiently treated.
