Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable high density recording and to increase the resolution, by rolling the forged forming body of permanent magnet material into thin plate, and performing magnetizing lattice magnetization toward broadwise direction with a given pitch toward the lengthwise direction of thin plate.
CONSTITUTION: The forged body of magnetic alloy of Fe-Cr-Co system is rolled into thin plate with cold rolling, and the desired length and width of strip is cut out from the roll formed thin plate with press cut. Further, after solution heat treatment, the magnetic field anisotropic treatment in which heat treatment is made with the state the magnetic field is operated orthogonal to the plate direction of strip, and after time aging at magnetic field treatment, the magnetic lattice magnetization of plate thickness direction is sequentially made with a given pitch intermittently toward the lengthwise direction of strip. Thus, the magnetic flux density is suffieicntly great, S/N is high, and high density recording for magnetic lattice is possible for the magnetic scale.
