Abstract
PURPOSE: To secure a simple and accurate holding of the shift drum at the neutral position, by locating the roller which presses each pin to stop and hold the drum in correspondence to each variable speed position of the drum onto the division line dividing equally the space between each pin.
CONSTITUTION: Shift pedal 1 is linked to shift arm 5 via shaft 4 in order to secure the transmission of the rotary motion of pedal 1 to arm 5. Arm 5 consists of the 1st arm 5a which is connected to shaft 4 and the 2nd arm 5b which is pivotally supported freely rotatably by arm 5a. And catches 7 and 7' opposing to each other with a distance between are provided at the tip and the middle lower edge of arm 5b to be engaged detachably to plural numbers of pins (a) and (b) which are provided to shift drum 2. And the diameter of pin (b) is set larger than that of pin (a) and pin (b) is located onto the pitch circle having a smaller diameter than pitch circle of pin (a). Then each of pins (a) and (b) is press-contacted by roller 11 in accordance with each variable speed position of drum 2 in order to stop and hold drum 2. Thus such roller 11 can be located on the line which divides equally the space between pins (a) and (b) each.
