Abstract

PURPOSE: To let an optically guided unattended cart get in and out the cage of an elevator automatically and securely by guiding the cart to the cage by using a reflective guidance body and then by detecting the position of the cart by a photoelectric-switch reflective tape.
CONSTITUTION: Optically-guide unattended cart 1 is used as an unattended cart, and reflective guidance belt 14 as a guidance belt; and reflective guidance body 14 is laid on floor surface 39 of cage 38 of an elevator corresponding to the reflective guidance belt. Photoelectric switch 43 and reflective tape 47 detect cart 1 arriving in front of the entrance of the elevator, and switch 52 and tape 47 detect cart 1 being loaded in cage 38. Then when the elevator reaches an indicated floor, switch 48 and tape 53 detect that and cage 1 is unloaded from cage 38. Consequently, cart 1 can be made to get in and out the elevator automatically and securely.
