Abstract
PURPOSE:To realize an unmanned operation for a car on a designated course, by detecting a course guide tape stuck to the travelling course and a position display tape stuck to the floor surface with an image sensor attached to the bottom surface of the unmanned car. CONSTITUTION:An image sensor 4 attached to an unmanned car 1 detects a course guide tape or various types of position tapes stuck to the floor surface and reads the contents of signals. For example, if a course station 2-3 is designated with a home station 2-1 defined as a start position, the car 1 travels continuously in a low speed until the sensor 4 does not detect a tape 2-12 of a speed reduction range within the station 2-1 and then travels in a high speed. The car 1 travels straight at a branch point (a), turns right at a branch point (b) with the right tape defined as a course guide tape and goes into an area of the station 2-3 in the course B. When the tape 2-12 is detected, the car 1 is switched to the travelling of a low speed. Then the sensor 4 detects a stop region 2-13, and the car 1 is damped and stopped by a mechanical brake.
