Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the heat dissipating property of a semiconductor device by extending the peripheral edge of a tab formed lower than lead wires substantially underneath the inner edge of the lead wire. CONSTITUTION:When forming a tab 3 and lead wires 2 by stamping a metallic plate, the tab 3 and the supporting lead wire 6 are formed at the step at the time of separating the lead wires 2. The step is formed in approx. 0.5mm., and the gap between the tab 3 and the lead wires 2 is set at approx. 0.3mm.. This configruation can shoten the heat transmitting route from the pellet 4 to the tab 3, and resin 1 and the lead wires 2 as compared with the conventional configuration so as to improve the heat dissipating property thereof.
