Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a grid which has a little corrosion, is hardly expanded, and provides an excellent life performance, by subjecting a lead-calcium system alloy to plastic work at a high temperature to make a thick sheet, before the thick sheet is rolled at an ordinary temperature to obtain a thin sheet, being followed by subjecting the thin sheet to expanding work to make the grid. CONSTITUTION:Casted billets made of an alloy consisting of Pb, 0.07% of Ca and 0.5% of Sn are subjected to plastic work such as rolling or extrusion uner a high temperature (for example, at 100-250 deg.C), a thick sheet being prepared. The thick sheet, next, is subjected to rolling work under a low temperature of below 50 deg.C, a thin sheet being made. Following that, the thin sheet is subjected to expanding work according to a conventional method, thereby a grid being obtained.
