Abstract
PURPOSE:To transmit an obstacle direction and its distance information accurately by dividing a search zone of an obstacle with a supersonic wave into the left and the right sides of the device to detect in order. CONSTITUTION:First, an obstacle TL in a search zone AL on the left side which includes the central axis of a device B is detected by using right and left oscillation receivers RL1 and RR1 positioned on both sides of a supersonic oscillator S and its central axis symmetrically. The detection of this obstacle TL is performed by oscillating the supersonic pulse toward the left side search zone A with a directional oscillator S and receiving a reflection pulse to the right and left oscillation receiver RL1 and RR1. The distance to the obstacle is detected by the time difference between the transmission from the oscillator S and the receiving of the receiver. Further, the direction of the obstacle can be detected by the time difference or phase difference of the receiving pulse in the right and left receivers RL1 and RR1. The same detection can be performed regarding the right side search zone AR. The signal of the receiving oscillation is indicated on a tactual sense matrix plate (d) through a decoder (c).
