Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the voltage share at turn-off, by decreasing the current flowing to self-breaking type semiconductor element which turns off with a delay and quickening the turn-off. CONSTITUTION:A capacitor C is added to the snubber circuit consisting of resistances R1, R2 and capacitors C1, C2 in parallel connection with gate turning-off thyristors GTO1. GTO2. When GTO1 first turns off, the current IC1 flowing to GTO1 is branched into the capacitor C1 and capacitor C through the resistance R1. Since the current iC1 of the capacitor C1 flows to GTO2 which turns off with a delay, the current becomes decreased by the current iC1 branched to the capacitor C. In this case, the negative current of GTO2 is the current value distinguishing the original current before the reduction, then the turning-off operation of GTO2 can be quickened.
