Abstract

PURPOSE:To simplify a circuit by using a signal having passed through a signal processing method, even as a dropout compensation signal by using the signal as a correction signal as well in a signal absence period at a break of connection. CONSTITUTION:The reproduced signal of a magnetic recording and reproducing device on the helical scan system is delayed by one horizontal scanning period through the 1st delay line 15' an 2nd delay line 23 and the output of delay line 23 is supplied to input B of switching circuit 12. Then, the reproduced video signal is changed in shape by LPF22 without detracting from the reproduced video signal of a synchronizing signal component and then applied to input B of circuit 12. On the basis of information on the rotation position of a rotary head, connection pulse generator 25 generates control pulse P2 while a rotary head is not in contact with a running tape, and with pulse P2 switching circuit 21 between delay lines 15' and 23 is changed over. Further, pulse P2 and the output of dropout detector 16 are OR- ed by OR gate 26, whose output controls circuit 12 to use one signal as a correction signal in a signal absence period at a break of connection and the dropout compensation signal of a signal processing method.
