Abstract

PURPOSE:To ensure the display of the still picture with no noise, by running the magnetic tape in a minute amount to drive the noise component out of the nondisplay part in case the noise in the reproduced video signal exists at the effective display part when the still picture is reproduced. CONSTITUTION:The command from the still picture reproduction switch is given to stop command circuit 9 to stop the shift of magnetic tape running unit 8. And the noise of reproduced video signal (a) supplied from the other side is detected at noise detector 3 and then applied to comparator 5. On the other hand, head switch signal (b) is applied to the 1st reference phase signal generator 4 which generates the pulse at the phase position corresponding to the nondisplay part as well as to effective screen width pulse generator 10 which produces the pulse featuring the width of the effective screen. Then the noise within the pulse duration of the effective screen of the output is produced at intra-effective noise detector 11 to be applied to OR gate 12. Thus the logic is secured with noncoincidence signal (e) delivered from comparator 5 and then applied to the 2nd reference phase signal generator 6 connected to generator 4 to produce the pulse. Using this pulse, the control is given to the gate circuit, and the minute running command is given to unit 8 via the output of circuit 7 to drive the noise at the effective display part out to the nondisplay part.
