Abstract

PURPOSE: To secure safety when men are moved between two marine constructions of which at least one is floating on the sea by transferring men between constructions through a telescopic ladder provided on one construction and a rope ladder provided on the top of the former ladder.
CONSTITUTION: A telescopic ladder 7 to be freely extended and contracted is fixed on a ship 4, as its angle of inclination being kept by a hydraulic device. A platform 8 is provided at the top stage of the telescopic ladder 7, and equipped with a rope ladder 6. On a marine building 1, a support 9 is provided to support the telescopic ladder 7, and a bridle 3 of a proper length is fixed to the support 9 on one end, and to the telescopic ladder 7 on another end. This construction serves to present a safe way to transfer men, since the movement of waves is smoothly followed by the telescopic ladder 7 and restricted within a necessary range by the work of the bridle 3.
