Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the temperature rise of the original surface and effectively utilize electric power by dividing the luminous flux of the lighting system to visible light and infrared light through a cold mirror and utilizing the former for lighting and the latter for heat developing and heat fixing.
CONSTITUTION: The luminous flux from the lighting system consisting of a light source 2 for lighting and a refledting plate 3 is bisected by a cold mirror 9. The visible light radiates the surface of the original 6 placed through intermediate paper (photosensitive paper) on the original platen 4 made of transparent glass, e.g., in the upper part and the infrared light condensed to the fixing position by transmitting through the cold mirror 9. Guide rollers 10 and 15 feed the intermediate paper 5 and receptive paper (copying paper) 8 as a pair through the fixing position. A fixing heater 16 is provided between the rollers 13 and 15 to heat the intermediate paper and receptive paper being fed by passing therethrough. These are then heated from the opposite side by the infrared light having transmitted through the cold mirror 9 and being condensed, whereby the chemical latent images on the intermediate paper 5 are heat-fixed onto the receptive paper 8.
