Abstract

PURPOSE:To drive heaters, provided in a roller on a side which is opposed in contact with toner, by averaging the power consumption of the whole device by driving them in such a way that a specific number of heaters are turned on when a copying machine is not in operation and the remaining heaters are turned on all the time. CONSTITUTION:In a fixation roller 11 opposed in contact with unifixed toner formed on copying paper, two heaters 13 and 14 are provided in parallel. The heater 13 is brought under temperature control by detecting the surface temperature of the roller 11 without reference to the copying operation of a copying machine. The heater 14 is powered up through a temperature control circuit when the copying machine is not in operation, specially when a lamp for exposure is not driven. When the switch of the copying machine is turned on, the two heaters 13 and 14 are powered up and a warm-up time is shortened. With a copy switch pressed, the lamp for exposure is turned on and then only the heater 13 is driven and controlled.
