Abstract

PURPOSE: To make fixing sure even during travelling at a high speed and achieve higher thermal efficiency by heating paper by an auxiliary fixing device and heating the toner by a main fixing device.
CONSTITUTION: A toner image is formed on paper 9 which has been transferred with the toner image of a photoreceptor 1 by a transfer device 4. This paper is pressed by an auxiliary fixing device 11 composed of heating elements and is further heated by a red-color light emitting body 12b positioned in a reflecting mirror 12a, by which the toner image is fixed perfectly onto the paper 9. At this time, the temperature of the paper 9 has been elevated up to the neiborhood of the temperature (softening point) at which the toner melts, thence the toner is perfectly melted by the radiation heat by the infrared light emitting body 12b. Since the paper having been elevated of temperature will not deprive the toner of its heat, the fixing is done perfectly.
