Abstract

PURPOSE:To make it possible to manufacture easily a compound magnetic head which is excellent in mechanical characteristics and magnetic characteristics by sticking a 2nd magnetic material to the projecting surface of a gap member projecting from a core made of a 1st magnetic material. CONSTITUTION:In a ferrite material groove 14 as a winding window is previously made and to a couple of core half bodies 11a and 11b mirror-finished into the same plane, gap parts 16 and 19 which is made of glass is connected so as to have front- part gap width (g). This head body 18 is reinforced by glass 10. Both the sides of gap part 16 are removed leaving depth D' as much as required to expose flank 21 and a step is made at tip 22 between front surfaces 23 of half bodies 11a and 11b. Next, amorphous magnetic alloy is sputtered and the sticking layer part 24 has needed gap depth D'' eventually; the front surface is worked by forming to obtain a desired shape, thereby obtaining head body 25.
