Abstract

PURPOSE: To compensate the change in surface potential along with temperature change, etc. and perform accurate controlling by changing the control times which control the output of a high voltage power source by the detection output of surface potentials according to the standing time where the electrostatic recorder had not been used.
CONSTITUTION: In the electrostatic recorder provided with a high voltage power source of a charging corona discharger which is capable of varying output, a detecting means which detects the surface potential on a recording medium and a control means which controls the output of the high voltage power source, whether the surface potentials reach the target value or not on account of the change in ambient, degradation in apparatus, etc. through one control is unknown and therefore the surface potentials are measured plural times and controlling of this and the output of the corona discharger is accomplished by the same times as these. As for correction times, controlling of 0 to 4 times from, e.g., state 1 up to 4, is accomplished according to the standing time when the recorder had not been used, whereby the surface potentials of the photoreceptor may be stabilized and at the same time the decrease in copying speed minimized.
