Abstract

PURPOSE: To produce continuously and easily the mirror plate of an original fine decoration mirror by washing a glass plate with tin chloride; chemically plating one side of the washed plate with silver nitrate and copper sulfate in order; forming a protective coating layer on the whole surface of the plated side except the inside of an outline corresponding to the outline of a desired picture design; and etching the plate.
CONSTITUTION: Glass plate 3 as the substrate of mirror plate A is washed and further washed with tin chloride. Silver nitrate layer 4 and copper sulfate layer 5 are formed on one side of plate 3 by chemical plating in order, and by screen printing protective coating layer 6 is formed on layer 5 except the inside of outline a' corresponding to outline a of picture design 1 of drawing paper B. Plate 3 is then dipped in a soln. of ferric oxide, whereby layers 4,5 are removed by etching to make the inside of outline a' transparent. Paper B is superposed on the rear of plate A and set in a frame to form a fine decoration mirror.
