Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a composition capable of storing heat in the form of latent heat of fusion and emitting the stored heat at a definite temperature without supercooling phenomenon, by adding Mg(OH)2 or SrSo4 as a nucleating agent to Na2S2O3.5H2O.
CONSTITUTION: A heat-storing composition composed of (A) 100 parts by weight of Na2S2O3.5H2O, (B) pref. 0.01W15parts. of a nucelating agent selected from Mg(0H)2 and SrSO4, and if necessary (C) a thickner such as carboxymethylcellulose, fumed silica, etc. to prevent the precipitation and coagulation of the nucleating agent.
EFFECT: Stable heat-absorbing and emitting characteristics, and high heat-storage capacity.
USE: Residential heat-storing apparatus such as floor-heater, wall-heater, etc. combined with a heat source such as solar energy collector.
