Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a composition capable of storing heat in the form of latent heat of fusion and emitting the stored heat at a definite temperature without supercooling phenomenon, by adding a specific compound such as Ba(BrO3)2, etc. as a nucleating agent to CH3COONa.3H2O.
CONSTITUTION: A heating-storing composition composed of (A) 100pts. wt. of CH3COONa.3H2O, (B) a nucleating agent selected from pref. 0.1W7 parts of Ba(BrO3)2.H2O or CaSO4.2H2O, and pref. 4W15 parts of KBrO3, K2SO4 or Ba(OH)2, and if necessary, (C) a thickener such as carboxymethylcellulose, fumed silica, etc. to prevent the precipitation and coagulation of the nucleating agent.
EFFECT: Stable heat-absorbing and emitting characteristics, and high heat-storage capacity.
USE: Residential heat-storing apparatus such as floor-heater, wall-heater, etc. combined with a heat source such as solar energy collector.
