Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve a spuriousness by using vibrators, which utilize length vibration and peripheral vibration respectively, as the series resonator and the parallel resonator of a ladder-type ceramic filter. CONSTITUTION:Plural series resonators 1 and parallel resonators 2 are combined to constitute a ladder-type ceramic filter, and vibrators which are easy to produce and may have a large dimension tolerance of resonators and utilize square peripheral vibration are used as parallel resonators, and piezo-electric vibrators which utilize length vibration of rectangular plates are used as series resonators. Peculiar spuriousness is generated near a frequency as about 1.4 times as high as the main resonance frequency in peripheral vibrarion of the square plate; however, since spuriousness (a) generated in the main resonance frequency of the rectangular plate is considerably different from that of the square plate, the spuriousness is improved considerably in comparison with spuriousness (b) of the filter, which utilizes peripheral vibration of the square plate conventionally, by combining both resonators.
