Abstract

PURPOSE: For efficent desorption and recovery of effective adsorption component, an electrically insulated heater containing fibrous active carbon is directly heated in dried condition.
CONSTITUTION: An internal porous cylinder plate 1 is wound with non woven cloth 2 of fibrous active carbon made from viscose rayon, polyacrylonitrile fibers, to produce a fibrous active carbon adsorption/desorption unit. This unit, after adsorption, is heated to about 100 to 150°C by energizing wire 3 to desorb the adsorbed component. Such operation is preferably conducted in a closed system by using vacuum and heating so that good desorption and gas collection is made possible.
