Abstract

PURPOSE: To increase sensitivity and lower noise characteristic in short wavelength recording for sound and video recording in correspondence to higher density direction by alternately laminating and disposing non-magnetic layers and the ferromagnetic layers wherein the long axis directions of crystal particles are specified on a base material.
CONSTITUTION: A non-magnetic layer 2, first ferromagnetic layer 3, non-magnetic layer 4 and second ferromagnetic layer 5 are laminated and disposed on a base material 1 composed of high molecular molding or non-magnetic metal material. Here, known diagonal vapor deposition is performed in an oxidative atmosphere in such a manner that the formation of, e.g., the layers 2, 3 and the layers 4, 5 may be symmetrically accomplished by inverting and moving the base material 1 in the forward and backward directions so that the long axis directions C1, C2 of the ferromagnetic particles 8 constituting the layers 3, 5 become preferably 30 to 120° in mean crossing angle θ.
