Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a diaphragm for flat plate speakers of light weight, high rigidity and a wide piston region by winding a long length meterial having protrusions to spiral form to form a core material and filling foaming agents in the hollow parts thereof. CONSTITUTION:One of Al foils is bent to triangular continuous crest form and the bottom side of this bent Al foil 1 is bonded to other Al foil 2 by means of epoxy base adhesive agants or the like, thereby forming a long length body 3 having triangular protrusions. This long length material 3 is wound in spiral form or other and is bonded to form a circular core material 4. Al discs 5, 5' are bonded as surface materials to the top and bottom faces of this core material 4. The use of the foils forming boron layer or the like on material of high specific modulus, e.g., Al foil surfaces as the surface material of the core material enables rigidity to be increased further. In addition, filling expandable resins in the hollow parts of the core material enables the internal loss of the diaphragm to be increased and distortion factor to be decreased.
