Abstract

PURPOSE:To make a diaphragm lightweight through keeping rigidity and suitable loss by foaming the mixture of releasing flake mica, pulp and polyvinyl alcohol and sticking thin foils having high specific elastic rate for both sides, as a flat diaphragm of a speaker. CONSTITUTION:A diaphragm 5 of a speaker is formed with a foamed body 5A obtained by the foaming of the mixture of organic or inorganic fiber such as flake mica, pulp and carbon fiber plus organic binder such as polyvinyl alcohol and epoxy, and with thin foil 5B sticked on both sides of the plate 5A made of material with high specific elastic rate such as collected mica, aluminum alloy, titanium and polyimide film. At the center of the diaphragm 5, a coil bobbin 7 wound with a voice coil 8 is fitted to constitute the speaker. With this constitution, the rigidity of the entire diaphragm 5 is increased than that of the foamed body 5A, allowing to achieve the diaphragm having good rigidity, light weight and suitable loss.
