Abstract
PURPOSE: To manufacture a decorative laminate having a clear and matted relief pattern and glossy surface except the relief pattern, by stacking a core substrate, a patterned layer comprising a prepreg sheet having the relief pattern on its surface, a metal foil, and a rubber sheet, in the order, and hot-pressing the stack.
CONSTITUTION: A patterned layer is prepared by applying a relief pattern to a prepreg sheet 2' obtained by impregnating a substrate sheet with a thermosetting resin, with a printing composition containing a thermosetting resin as vehicle. The patterned surface is covered with a transparent layer 4' in option, and a metal foil such as aluminum foil, and a rubber sheet 5 is successively placed thereon. The stack is placed on a core substrate 1 which is placed on a rigid plate such as metal plate, and hot-pressed to obtain the objective decorative laminate having unique appearance, i.e. a combination of matted relief pattern and glossly base surface.
