Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a decorative sheet having many surface finishes at a reduced equipment cost in a few steps, by transferring a thermosetting resin having the B-stage applied to an embossed foil to a decorative base material.
CONSTITUTION: A metallic foil, synthetic resin sheet, or their composite (A) is embossed, and a thermosetting resin having the B-stage, e.g. melamine or epoxy resin, is applied to one or both sides of A so that the unevenness of the embossment may not appear after drying (preferably in a layer 5W200μ thick), and the resin is dried or preheated to the B-stage, and cut according to the press form or rolled into a continuous sheet. The coated side is brought into contact with a decorative base material, and hot-pressed to transfer the resin to the material.
