Abstract

PURPOSE: To shorten the execution time of an instruction, and also to reduce logic in amount without having a sequence control part such as an instruction code discrimination part, by directly supplying contents of an instruction register and arithmetic flag to a control memory unit.
CONSTITUTION: An instruction code is read out from the main memory unit and held by instruction register 1, and before being supplied to control memory unit 4 directly, and a microinstruction code to be executed first corresponding to the instruction code held by register 1 is outputted from unit 4 to microinstruction register 5 for the execution of the process, thereby finishing one step of the microinstruction. If the execution of the instruction code held by resister 1 requires several to tens steps, contents of register 1 are left as it is and microinstructions to be executed in sequence are prescribed by control counter 20 and arithmetic flag 22.
