Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 〔産業上の利用分野〕 本発明は、スチールにメッキした亜鉛および亜鉛合金用
の多機能膜に関するものでおり、特にスチールにメッキ
した亜鉛および亜鉛合金に用いられる一時的な保護膜に
係するものであり、本明細書に記載される条件および成
分の下で実施され、多機能を有する膜として働くもので
市る。またその特性について下記に述べる。
〔従来の技術〕
亜鉛メッキされたスチール材は、耐腐食性の要求が高ま
ることにより、日ごとに産業上とりわ(プ自動車産業に
おいてより広い用途に使われるようになっている。スチ
ールの表面は通常、亜鉛を電気メッキしたスチール(E
C)のように電気的な手段か、あるいは高温浸漬電気メ
ッキスチール(HDG)のように溶融した亜鉛へ浸漬す
るという手段のいずれかにより金属亜鉛により被覆され
る。
さらに最近では、1種類以上の金属からなるメッキが行
なわれるようになっている。亜鉛/ニッケルおよび亜鉛
/鉄からなるメッキは電気付着により得られ、亜鉛/ア
ルミニウムからなる他のメッキは溶融金属中への浸漬に
より得られる。焼鈍はHDGの熱処理の1プロセスで、
亜鉛/鉄のタイプの合金が金属表面に得られる。
〔発明が解決しようとする課題〕
このような物質の産業上の利用は冷たいロール状のスチ
ールシートに比べ、金属成形作業(より精密な大きい絞
り加工や打抜き加工)においてかなり難しい問題を投げ
かけている。これは金属表面の平滑さの差異によるもの
と考えられる。
金属加工とりわ(プ打抜き加工に特別なオイルを使用し
ても全く問題は解決しない。というのは金属成形の後、
塗装を行なう前にこのような油を取去ることが非常に難
しいことがある。またワックスのような潤滑剤を、この
目的に使用したときには、通常使用されるワックスの塗
布量(2〜4J/尻)が重いため、除去するのは同様に
難しいものとおもわれる。スチールにメッキした亜鉛は
その表面がたいていCR8に比べてでこぼこで小孔が形
成されていたりすることが知られている。このため、オ
イルのクリーニングが難しく、その結果として油の除去
プロセスをより複雑なものにしている。
亜鉛を電気メッキしたスチールが象徴する利点は、シー
トの成形作業中に出る亜鉛のくずを取り去るのが容易な
ことと、さらに重要なことには、周縁部に施こされる亜
鉛がたいてい他より厚いことにより粘着性が小さくなる
。これは、たやすく摩耗するかあるいは打抜きプレスあ
るいは他の工具によるはく離を引き起こす。
長期にわたる貯蔵あるいは輸送の間の金属シートの初期
の酸化を回避するために腐食抑制物としてのオイルを用
いることが一般的である。抗酸化剤としてのオイルは長
い期間にわたって光や雰囲気にさらされることによりそ
の構造が変化することもある。また、オイルが金属表面
の孔内部に物理的に入ってしまうこともある。
そこで、本発明は、金属シートに下記のような特性を与
えるような亜鉛メッキしたスチール材用の多機能膜を提
供することを目的としている。その特性とは、金属に潤
滑性を与えるとともに、摩擦係数を小さくさせることに
より金属の形成条件を改良することができること、また
油溝としにかかる時間および温度が関係するときにはク
リーナー(スタンピングオイル除去剤)の操作条件を容
易にし、金属表面の清潔さの程度を高めること、金属成
形の作業中に亜鉛の破片がはがれるのを防ぐこと、更に
、金属表面を化学的に変化させることなく、金属シート
の貯蔵および輸送中の耐腐食性を保護することである。
〔課題を解決するための手段〕
上記目的を達成するために、本発明の保護膜は有機共重
合体および潤滑性添加剤とからなり、共重合体は遊離カ
ルボキシル基を有するアクリル系、ビニアクリル系、ス
チレンアクリル系またはニトリルアクリル系の共重合体
から選ばれ、潤滑性添加剤は使いすてのフィルムに低い
摩擦係数を与えるために添加され、フィルムの″乾燥状
態″を変えることのない添加物の中から選ばれる。また
これはグラファイト、硫化モリブデン、炭化カルシウム
のような無機化合物および/または天然および合成のワ
ックスのような有機物から選択される。
ワックスとしてはモンタナワックス、カーナウバワック
ス、ポリエチレンワックスの他、ヒドロキシステアリン
酸のカルシウム、亜鉛またはリチウムの塩、エチレンオ
キサイド基およびナイロン、テトロンのようなポリマー
を有する/有しない脂肪族アミドなどがあげられる。
また、本発明の膜の成分に、フィルムの耐腐食性を高め
るべく共重合体の架橋を行なうための多価陽イオンを添
加してもよい。さらにこの成分にフィルムの導伝性を高
めるための導伝性粒子を添加してもよい。それにより接
合性が向上する。この導伝性粒子はカーボンブラック、
マグネタイト、金属粉などから選ぶことができる。
本発明に使用される有機共重合体は溶液重合法により合
成される。そしてそれらはエチル、ブチル、エチル−2
−ヘキシル アクリレート、ビニルエステル、スチレン
、メヂルアクリレート、およびアクリル酸、メタクリル
酸などの七ツマ−を含有している。
1 a=30〜60#!gKOHの酸度を与えるような
カルボキシル基を樹脂に添加することにより水への溶解
性をもたせることができ、ただらにそのポリマーのpH
は8またはそれ以上にある。この樹脂は、通常アルコー
ル類またはグリコール類から選ばれた溶媒に、50〜6
0%の乾燥固体容量が用いられる。
この混合物に用いられるワックスは前もって水に分散可
能に調整されているのが好ましく、従って水に溶解可能
な樹脂を混和できる。最終製品は高い水の含有量を有す
るので燃焼の危険性が低くなっている。この混合物用の
典型的なワックスとしては商品名の「ベストワックス」
 (ケミツシュウエルケ ヒュールズ、ΔG)「エボレ
ン」(イーストマン コダック)および他にはBASF
のものが市場でよく知られたものである。
無機質の固体状の潤滑剤を本発明に使用するときには、
すぐに沈澱するのを防ぐために稲麦性の濃縮剤を用い、
あらかじめ水に分散させてから混合物へ添加する。コロ
イド状シリカ化合物、ジウレタン類などがこの目的に使
用される。
この2つの主成分により、本発明に記載された特性、つ
まり摩擦係数を軽減すること、アルカリ性のクリーナー
でフィルムが容易に取り除けること、亜鉛のはく離を防
ぐこと、亜鉛メッキした金属表面に貯蔵および輸送中の
耐腐食性を与えることなどの特性を有する製品を得るこ
とができる。
より高い耐腐食性が要求されるとぎには、亜鉛、クロム
などのような多価陽イオンを溶解性錯体のかたちで添加
すると非常に効果的であることが実験によりわかってい
る。
もし本発明による]−ティングが金属シート上に2 ’
;J / mよりも厚く塗布されたときには、この混合
物に導伝性の成分を加える必要がある。そうすればコー
ディングされたシートは接合性を保つ。
上記の導伝性粒子は乾燥固形分の容量に対して2〜5%
の間でつり合うような割合で使用される。
この場合、得られる]−ティングの外観は黒っぽくなる
亜鉛メッキした金属上に一時的にコーティングされた乾
燥フィルムの重さは、0.5〜5g/尻でおる。実用の
際、本発明の製品を希釈するのに使われる水は選ばれた
プロセスにより変化する。
そのプロセスは浸漬させ、その後ころがして絞るか、ロ
ールコーティングするか金属ストリップ上に静電噴霧を
するものである。
少なくとも0.5y/mの重さのフィルムである本発明
を]−ティング膜を備えた亜鉛メッキのスヂールストリ
ップはその性能を高めるために結局保護油または特別な
スタンピングオイルを塗布される。
−11= 〔発明の効果〕 遊離アルホキシル基を有するアクリル系樹脂を一時的な
金属保護膜として用いることは「ガルバノ オーガノ 
1〜レイトメンツ デ サーフエス」という技術雑誌の
No、 568.557頁に記載されているため、既に
知られている。
しかしながら、本発明に提唱されているように非常に薄
い]−ティングとしてこのようなポリマーを使用するこ
とは、その耐腐食性の効果が乏しいため実施されていな
かった。さらに金属成形のための改良法としてこのよう
なポリマーを使用することはそれ自身あるいは潤滑性添
加物を含む混合物のいずれについても以前には主張され
ていなかった。
本発明の有機膜は亜鉛メッキされたスチール材の上に施
され次のような利点を与える新規な多機能膜を提供する
ものである。この利点とは、摩擦= 12− 係数が小さく、亜鉛片がはく離するのをおさえ腐食から
保護し、標準的なりリーナーでこの膜を容易に取り除く
ことができるということでおる。
さらに、非常に薄くてもこの膜はこのような特性を果た
すことができるという事実は、膜の消費速度が小さいだ
けでなく、特別なオイルやオイルクリーナーも消耗しな
いという点で経済的観点からみて最も魅力的な製品にな
っている。通常使用される電気メッキラインの作業は高
速で行なわれているので薄いコーティングを実施する必
要があり、さもな(ブれば標準的な乾燥条件ではすべて
の溶媒を十分に取り除くことができないといったことか
らも実用プロセスにとっても薄いコーティングは有益で
ある。
〔実施例〕
以下、本発明の実施例について説明する。
実施例1゜ 共重合体樹脂および潤滑性添加剤とを含んだ本発明によ

キしただけの金属シートに直接オイルを塗布したときよ
りも通常のアルカリ性クリーナーで金属表面からぞれら
を容易に取り除くことができることがわかった。
次の表は標準的なアルカリ性の油除去剤(pH−9,5
)を用いたクリーニング操作における時間および温度の
削減の可能性を示している。

上の表かられかるように、本発明による製品の膜を有す
る金属シートにオイルを塗布しても、下にある樹脂が溶
解するのは妨げられないことが明らかとなった。この事
実は光にさらされることによりその構造に化学的な変化
を受けることになるかもしれない古いオイルのコーティ
ングを取り除こうとする時や、樹脂合成プロセスを開始

亜鉛メッキされた金属は、成形のしやすさとい=  1
6 = う点に関しては、その表面の平滑さが一様でないため、
容易な金属ではない。
亜鉛メッキしたスチールシートに本発明の製品を使用し
たものについて潤滑性の改良があるか否かを調べるため
に、すべり摩擦試験に基いて試験が行なわれた。

べり摩擦試験に従った静止圧力と動圧力との間の摩擦比
もガリングインデックスを参照としたものである。
摩擦比が1.2以下のすべての値はこの方法では非ガリ
ング材と定義される。本発明の製品を適用した亜鉛メッ
キしたスチールにこの試験を行ったところ、いろいろな
試料について1.2以下の値となった。
本明細書に記載の有機膜は金属シートへ潤滑性を与え、
金属成形作業のために特別のオイルを使用しなくてもよ
いかおるいは最小限におさえることができる。金属ベー
スへのフィルムの連続性および接着性により]−ティン
グをすることにより機械の押型にひっかかるのを防ぐこ
とができる。
これは、型の圧力の下で押圧されるのを防ごうとする性
質が固体にあるのでカルボキシル基の金属に対する反発
性によって引ぎ起こされる。
本発明のコーティングがスチールメッキした亜鎗の表面
に潤滑性に関して与える利点は現在成形の難しい材料、
例えばステンレス スチールなどの他の材料にも応用で
きる。
本発明の製品は、連続プロセスの亜鉛メッキスチールス
トリップに用いるために当初計画されたものでおるが、
上記材料からなる要素および部品の保護に使用できない
という理由は何もない。プロセスは浸漬あるいはスプレ
ーにつづき高温空気による乾燥あるいは同等の手段によ
り乾燥が行なわれる。
本発明の内容について十分述べてきたので、すべての適
切な用途について、状況あるいは実施により必要な詳細
の変更あるいは修正がおったとしても本発明の要旨を変
更おるいは修正しない限り本発明とみなされる。

Claims (1)

  1. 【特許請求の範囲】 1、アクリル系、ビニルアクリル系、アクリルスチレン
    系の共重合体および潤滑性添加剤からなり、該共重合体
    は、アクリル酸および/またはメタクリル酸のカルボキ
    シル基を有し、Iaが30ないし60mgKOHで、ア
    ルコールおよび/またはグリコールを含有し水分減量可
    能な共重合体で、前記潤滑性添加剤は1ないし10%の
    割合で、天然または合成のワックス、グラファイト、硫
    化モリブデンなどの固形のものが水中分散状で含まれて
    いることを特徴とするスチールにメッキした亜鉛および
    亜鉛/鉄、亜鉛/ニッケル、亜鉛/コバルト、亜鉛/ア
    ルミニウムその他の金属表面に用いられる多機能膜。 2、前記潤滑性添加剤はモンタナワックス、カーナウバ
    ワックス、ポリエチレンワックス及びポリ四塩化エチレ
    ンワックスのうちから選ばれるワックスを水中に分散し
    た状態で含有している請求項1記載の多機能膜。 3、亜鉛族元素、クロム族元素、ジルコニウム族元素及
    びバナジウム族元素のうちから選ばれた多価陽イオンが
    可溶解性錯体の形で添加されている請求項1記載の多機
    能膜。 4、多機能膜がグラファイト、マグネタイト、カーボン
    ブラック、粉状金属のような導伝性粒子を含有する製品
    である請求項1記載の多機能膜。 5、前記膜上に腐食保護および/または打抜き加工用の
    オイルを塗布した請求項1記載の多機能膜。
