Description
(1)被塗物上に、着色塗料(X)を塗装してL*a*b*表色系における明度L*値が5以下の範囲内となる着色塗膜を形成する工程、
(2)工程(1)で形成される塗膜上に、光輝性顔料分散体(Y)を塗装して光輝性塗膜を形成する工程、
(3)工程(2)で形成される光輝性塗膜上に、クリヤー塗料(Z)を塗装してクリヤー塗膜を形成する工程、
を含む複層塗膜形成方法であって、
光輝性顔料分散体(Y)が、水、粘性調整剤(A)及び鱗片状光輝性顔料(B)を含有する光輝性顔料分散体であって、鱗片状光輝性顔料(B)が透明又は半透明な基材を金属酸化物で被覆した光輝性顔料であり、且つ固形分含有率が0.1~15質量%であり、
得られる複層塗膜が、塗膜に対して45度の角度で照射した光を正反射光に対して入射光方向に5度の角度で受光したときの分光反射率に基づくXYZ表色系における輝度を示すY値(Y5)が50以上で、かつ塗膜に対して45度の角度で照射した光を正反射光に対して入射光方向に25度の角度で受光したときのL*a*b*表色系における明度L*値(L*25)が25以下である
ことを特徴とする複層塗膜形成方法が提供される。
1.工程(1)
工程(1)は、被塗物上に、着色塗料(X)を塗装してL*a*b*表色系における明度L*値が5以下の範囲内となる着色塗膜を形成する工程である。
本発明の光輝性顔料分散体を適用し得る被塗物としては、鉄、亜鉛、アルミニウム等の金属やこれらを含む合金などの金属材、及びこれらの金属による成型物、ならびに、ガラス、プラスチックや発泡体などによる成型物等を挙げることができる。これら素材に応じて適宜、脱脂処理や表面処理して被塗物とすることができる。該表面処理としては例えばリン酸塩処理、クロメート処理、複合酸化物処理等が挙げられる。さらに、上記被塗物の素材が金属であれば、表面処理された金属素材の上にカチオン電着塗料等によって下塗り塗膜が形成されていることが好ましい。また、被塗物の素材がプラスチックである場合には、脱脂処理されたプラスチック素材の上にプライマー塗料によってプライマー塗膜が形成されていることが好ましい。
上述の被塗物に着色塗料(X)を塗装して、着色塗膜を形成することができる。着色塗料(X)は、複層塗膜の漆黒性の観点から、それを塗装して得られた塗膜がL*a*b*表色系における明度L*値が5以下の範囲内となるものであれば特に制限なく用いることができる。
工程(2)は、工程(1)で形成される着色塗膜上に、光輝性顔料分散体(Y)を塗装して光輝性塗膜を形成する工程である。
光輝性顔料分散体(Y)は、水、粘性調整剤(A)及び鱗片状光輝性顔料(B)を含有する光輝性顔料分散体であって、鱗片状光輝性顔料(B)が、透明又は半透明な基材を金属酸化物で被覆した光輝性顔料であり、且つ、固形分含有率が0.1~15質量%である光輝性顔料分散体である。
粘性調整剤(A):固形分として0.01~5質量%、好ましくは0.05~3質量%、より好ましくは0.1~2質量%、
鱗片状光輝性顔料 (B):0.05~10質量%、好ましくは0.1~7質量%、より好ましくは0.2~5質量%、
表面調整剤(C):0~5質量%、好ましくは0~3質量%、より好ましくは0.1~3質量%。
工程(3)は、光輝性顔料分散体(Y)によって形成された光輝性塗膜上に、クリヤー塗料(Z)を塗装する工程である。
クリヤー塗料(Z)には、公知の熱硬化性クリヤーコート塗料組成物をいずれも使用できる。該熱硬化性クリヤーコート塗料組成物としては、例えば、架橋性官能基を有する基体樹脂及び硬化剤を含有する有機溶剤型熱硬化性塗料組成物、水性熱硬化性塗料組成物、粉体熱硬化性塗料組成物等を挙げることができる。
本発明においては、上記着色塗料(X)を塗装することにより形成される未硬化の着色塗膜、上記光輝性顔料分散体(Y)を塗装することにより形成される未硬化の光輝性塗膜及び上記クリヤー塗料(Z)を塗装することにより形成される未硬化のクリヤー塗膜の3つの塗膜を加熱することによって、別々に硬化することもできるし、同時に硬化させることもできる。複層塗膜の付着性や耐水性の観点からは、未硬化の着色塗膜、未硬化の光輝性塗膜、及び未硬化のクリヤー塗膜のこれら3つの未硬化の塗膜を加熱することによって、同時に硬化させることが好ましい。
加熱は公知の手段により行うことができ、例えば、熱風炉、電気炉、赤外線誘導加熱炉等の乾燥炉を適用できる。加熱温度は、特に制限されるものではないが、好ましくは70~150℃、より好ましくは80~140℃の範囲内にある。加熱時間は、特に制限されるものではないが、好ましくは10~40分間、より好ましくは20~30分間の範囲内である。

(1)被塗物上に、着色塗料(X)を塗装してL*a*b*表色系における明度L*値が5以下の範囲内となる着色塗膜を形成する工程、
(2)工程(1)で形成される塗膜上に、光輝性顔料分散体(Y)を塗装して光輝性塗膜を形成する工程、
(3)工程(2)で形成される光輝性塗膜上に、クリヤー塗料(Z)を塗装してクリヤー塗膜を形成する工程、
を含む複層塗膜形成方法であって、
光輝性顔料分散体(Y)が、水、粘性調整剤(A)及び鱗片状光輝性顔料(B)を含有する光輝性顔料分散体であって、鱗片状光輝性顔料(B)が透明又は半透明な基材を金属酸化物で被覆した光輝性顔料であり、且つ固形分含有率が0.1~15質量%であり、
得られる複層塗膜が、塗膜に対して45度の角度で照射した光を正反射光に対して入射光方向に5度の角度で受光したときの分光反射率に基づくXYZ表色系における輝度を示すY値(Y5)が50以上で、かつ塗膜に対して45度の角度で照射した光を正反射光に対して入射光方向に25度の角度で受光したときのL*a*b*表色系における明度L*値(L*25)が25以下である
ことを特徴とする複層塗膜形成方法。
[2]前記鱗片状光輝性顔料(B)が黒色を呈する光輝性顔料を含む[1]に記載の複層塗膜形成方法。
[3]前記が黒色を呈する光輝性顔料が、鉄、チタン、コバルト、ニッケル、マンガン、銅、錫、クロム、ジルコニウム等から任意に選ばれる1または2種類以上の金属の金属酸化物を含む[1]又は[2]に記載の複層塗膜形成方法。
[4]前記鱗片状光輝性顔料が、金属酸化物被覆マイカ顔料、金属酸化物被覆アルミナフレーク顔料、金属酸化物被覆ガラスフレーク顔料、又は金属酸化物被覆シリカフレーク顔料である[1]~[3]のいずれか1項に記載の複層塗膜形成方法。
[5]前記鱗片状光輝性顔料(B)の含有量が、光輝性顔料分散体(Y)中の合計固形分100質量部に対し1~90質量部である[1]~[4]のいずれか1項に記載の複層塗膜形成方法。
[6]前記光輝性顔料分散体(Y)が、さらに表面調整剤(C)を含有する請求項[1]~[5]のいずれか1項に記載の複層塗膜形成方法。
[7]前記着色塗料(X)がアクリル樹脂、ポリエステル樹脂、エポキシ樹脂、又はウレタン樹脂を含む[1]~[6]のいずれか1項に記載の複層塗膜形成方法。
[8]前記着色塗料(X)が黒色顔料を含む[1]~[7]のいずれか1項に記載の複層塗膜形成方法。
[9]着色塗料(X)が、ペリレンブラック、カーボンブラック、カーボンナノチューブを含有する[1]~[8]のいずれか1項に記載の複層塗膜形成方法。
[10]前記着色塗料(X)が、カーボンブラックを含有する[1]~[9]のいずれか1項に記載の複層塗膜形成方法。
[11]前記粘性調整剤(A)が、鉱物系粘性調整剤、ポリアクリル酸系粘性調整剤、又はセルロース系粘性調整剤のうちの1種または2種以上を含む[1]~[10]のいずれか1項に記載の複層塗膜形成方法。
[12]粘性調整剤(A)の含有量が、鱗片状光輝性顔料(B)の含有量100質量部に基づいて、2~270質量部の範囲内である[1]~[11]のいずれか1項に記載の複層塗膜形成方法。
[13]光輝性塗膜の乾燥膜厚が0.05~3μmである[1]~[12]のいずれか1項に記載の複層塗膜形成方法。
[14]クリヤー塗料(Z)が、水酸基含有樹脂及びポリイソシアネート化合物を含有する2液型クリヤー塗料である[1]~[13]のいずれか1項に記載の複層塗膜形成方法。
[15]未硬化の前記着色塗膜、前記光輝性塗膜及び前記クリヤー塗膜の3つの塗膜を同時に硬化させる[1]~[14]のいずれか1項に記載の複層塗膜形成方法。
製造例1
粘性調整剤(A-1)(商品名:レオクリスタ、固形分2.0%、セルロースナノファイバーの水分散体,第一工業製薬社製)18.8部(固形分で0.38部)、蒸留水81.3部、Xirallic(登録商標)NXT M260-60 WNT Panthera Silver(商品名、チタン酸鉄(FeTiO3)を含む金属酸化物で被覆されたアルミナフレーク顔料、黒色、メルク社製、平均粒子径20μm)1.4部、アクリル樹脂水分散体(R-1)(注3)0.9部(固形分で0.27部)、表面調整剤(C-1)(注4)0.5部(固形分で0.5部)、ジメチルエタノールアミン0.005部、エチレングリコールモノブチルエーテル0.5部を配合して攪拌混合し、光輝性顔料分散体(Y-1)を得た。
表1に示す配合割合とする以外は製造例1と同様にして、光輝性顔料分散体(Y-2)~(Y-17)を得た。
(注1)粘性調整剤(A-2):TEMPO(2,2,6,6-テトラメチルピペリジン 1-オキシルラジカル)触媒を用いた公知の酸化手法で処理された酸化パルプのスラリーを機械解繊して得られたセルロースナノファイバー水性分散液をイオン交換カラムに通しジブチルアミンで中和したものを使用した。固形分2質量%。
(注2)粘性調整剤(A-3):、固形分:28質量%、商品名「Acrysol ASE-60」、ポリアクリル酸系粘性調整剤、ダウケミカル社製
(注3)アクリル樹脂水分散体(R-1):下記のとおり製造した。
(注4)表面調整剤(C-1):固形分100質量%。商品名「BYK348」、BYK社製、シリコーン系表面調整剤。
(注5)表面調整剤(C-2):固形分48質量%。商品名「ポリフローWS-314」、共栄社化学社製、アクリル系表面調整剤
(注6)アクリル樹脂溶液(R-2):下記のとおり製造した。
(注7)アルミニウムペースト:固形分20%、商品名、「STAPA IL HYDROLANS1500」、Eckart社製
(注8)カーボンペースト:カーボンブラック(商品名、「RAVEN 5000」、BIRLA CARBON社製)を3級アミノ基含有顔料分散樹脂溶液で固形分30:70となるように配合し、中和剤、脱イオン水を加えて分散処理を行い、固形分15%のペーストとした。
(注9)紫外線吸収剤:固形分40%、商品名「TINUVIN 479-DW(N)」、BASF社製
(注10)光安定剤:固形分50%、商品名「TINUVIN 123-DW(N)」、BASF社製
実施例1
脱脂及びリン酸亜鉛処理した鋼板(JISG3141、大きさ400×300×0.8mm)にカチオン電着塗料「エレクロン9400HB」(商品名:関西ペイント社製、アミン変性エポキシ樹脂系カチオン樹脂に硬化剤としてブロックポリイソシアネート化合物を使用したもの)を硬化塗膜に基づいて膜厚20μmになるように電着塗装し、170℃で20分加熱して架橋硬化させて被塗物1を得た。

実施例1において着色塗料種ならびに光輝性顔料分散体種及び膜厚を表2に記載の構成とする以外は全て実施例1と同様にして、実施例2~19及び比較例1~2の試験塗板を得た。
(X-2):「WP-522H」(商品名、関西ペイント社製、ポリエステル樹脂系水性中塗り塗料、カーボンブラック配合により得られる得られる塗膜のL*値:5)。
(X-3):「WP-522H」(商品名、関西ペイント社製、ポリエステル樹脂系水性中塗り塗料、カーボンブラック配合により得られる得られる塗膜のL*値:10)。
脱脂及びリン酸亜鉛処理した鋼板(JISG3141、大きさ400×300×0.8mm)にカチオン電着塗料「エレクロン9400HB」を硬化塗膜に基づいて膜厚20μmになるように電着塗装し、170℃で20分加熱して架橋硬化させ、電着塗膜を形成せしめた。得られた上記鋼板の電着塗面に、「TP-65 No.8110」(商品名:関西ペイント社製、ポリエステル樹脂系溶剤系中塗り塗料、得られる塗膜のL*値:20)を回転霧化型のベル型塗装機を用いて、硬化膜厚20μmになるように静電塗装し、140℃で30分加熱して架橋硬化させ、中塗り塗膜を形成せしめ被塗物2を得た。
上記のようにして得られた各試験塗板を下記の項目について評価した。表2にその結果を併せて示す。
照射された光の多重反射光の強さは、XYZ表色系において輝度を表すY値によって表される。特に本明細書では、真珠光沢感で特徴的な、正反射光に対して入射方向に5度ずれた角度の輝度、すなわちY5値をもって評価する。
Y5:塗膜に45度の角度で照射した光を、正反射光に対して入射光方向に5度の角度で受光したときの分光反射率に基づいて、XYZ表色系における輝度Y値(Y5)を計算した。測定及び計算には、村上色彩研究所製の測色計「ゴニオメーターGCMS-4(商品名)」を用いた。
L*25: L*25値は多角度分光光度計(「MA-68II」(商品名、X-Rite社製)を使用して、測定対象面に垂直な軸に対し45°の角度から測定光を照射し、正反射角から測定光の方向に25°の角度で受光した光について測定した。
Claims (4)
- 下記の工程(1)~(3):
(1)被塗物上に、着色塗料(X)を塗装してL*a*b*表色系における明度L*値が5以下の範囲内となる着色塗膜を形成する工程、
(2)工程(1)で形成される塗膜上に、光輝性顔料分散体(Y)を塗装して光輝性塗膜を形成する工程、
(3)工程(2)で形成される光輝性塗膜上に、クリヤー塗料(Z)を塗装してクリヤー塗膜を形成する工程、
を含む複層塗膜形成方法であって、
着色塗料(X)が、ビヒクル形成樹脂及び黒色顔料を含み、前記黒色顔料の含有量が、前記ビヒクル形成樹脂の固形分100質量部に対し0.5質量部以上であり、前記黒色顔料がカーボンブラックであり、
光輝性顔料分散体(Y)が、水、粘性調整剤(A)及び鱗片状光輝性顔料(B)を含有する光輝性顔料分散体であって、鱗片状光輝性顔料(B)が透明又は半透明な基材を金属酸化物で被覆した光輝性顔料であり、且つ前記光輝性顔料分散体(Y)の固形分含有率が0.1~15質量%であり、前記鱗片状光輝性顔料(B)の含有量が、光輝性顔料分散体(Y)中の合計固形分100質量部に対し1~90質量部であり、
得られる複層塗膜が、塗膜に対して45度の角度で照射した光を正反射光に対して入射光方向に5度の角度で受光したときの分光反射率に基づくXYZ表色系における輝度を示すY値(Y5)が50以上で、かつ塗膜に対して45度の角度で照射した光を正反射光に対して入射光方向に25度の角度で受光したときのL*a*b*表色系における明度L*値(L*25)が25以下である
ことを特徴とする複層塗膜形成方法。 - 前記鱗片状光輝性顔料(B)が黒色を呈する光輝性顔料を含む請求項1に記載の複層塗膜形成方法。
- 前記光輝性顔料分散体(Y)が、さらに表面調整剤(C)を含有する請求項1又は2に記載の複層塗膜形成方法。
- クリヤー塗料(Z)が、水酸基含有樹脂及びポリイソシアネート化合物を含有する2液型クリヤー塗料である請求項1~3のいずれか1項に記載の複層塗膜形成方法。
