Description
本出願は、2015年10月28日に出願された米国特許出願第14/925,195号に対する優先権を主張する。本特許出願の内容全体は、明細書、特許請求の範囲、及び要約、並びにこれらのあらゆる図、表、又は図面を含むが、これらに限定されることなく、ここに明示的に本明細書に参照により組み込まれる。
本発明の洗濯方法は、SRPの使用を含む。本発明の一態様では、SRPは、油性及びグリース性の汚れの除去を向上させることができる。これは、工業的洗濯環境において、特に有益である。SRPは、水酸化物系アルカリ分を実質的に含まない予備洗浄ステップに含まれる。好ましい実施形態では、水酸化物系アルカリ分を実質的に含まない予備洗浄ステップは、ケイ酸塩系アルカリ性源の使用を用いる。別の好ましい実施形態では、水酸化物系アルカリ分を実質的に含まない予備洗浄ステップは、中性予備洗浄ステップであり、後に水酸化物系アルカリ分を含む主洗浄ステップが続き得る。
汚れリリースポリマーは、本発明の方法に含まれ得る。ポリマーは、疎水性モノマー及び親水性モノマーの両方を有することにより作用し、それによりSRPがポリエステル及びポリエステルブレンドの生地表面に付着することが可能になり、表面がより親水性になる。表面をより親水性にすることにより、汚いモーター油等の油性汚れとポリエステル及びポリエステルブレンド生地との親和性が低下し、汚れが簡単に除去できるようになる。ポリマーが生地上にビルドアップすると知られているため、SRPが複数の洗浄サイクルにわたって使用される場合、この効果はより大きい。
本発明の方法では、予備洗浄ステップは、あらゆるアルカリ性源なしで、中性で、又は水酸化物系アルカリ分を実質的に含まずに用いられ得る。更に、本発明の実施形態では、主洗浄ステップは、アルカリ性源を含有し、それは水酸化物系アルカリ分源を含み得る。したがって、本発明中における使用に好適なアルカリ性源としては、アルカノールアミン、炭酸塩、水酸化物、及びケイ酸塩を挙げることができる。本発明の好ましい態様では、アルカリ性源は、ケイ酸塩系である。
本発明のステップは、典型的には、担体を用いて行われる。一実施形態では、担体は水であるが、特定の実施形態では、異なる溶媒が使用され得る。
いくつかの実施形態において、本発明の組成物は、界面活性剤を含む。本発明の組成物と一緒に使用するのに好適な界面活性剤としては、非イオン界面活性剤、陰イオン界面活性剤、陽イオン界面活性剤、両性界面活性剤、及び双性イオン界面活性剤が挙げられるが、これらに限定されない。いくつかの実施形態において、本発明の組成物は、約5重量%~約50重量%の界面活性剤を含む。他の実施形態において、本発明の組成物は、約10重量%~約40重量%の界面活性剤を含む。更に他の実施形態において、本発明の組成物は、約15重量%~約35重量%の界面活性剤を含む。本組成物及び方法で使用するために選択された界面活性剤のクラス、一体性、及び数は、本組成物及び方法中の他の構成成分に基づいて、及び除去の対象となる汚れのタイプに基づいて変更され選択されてよい。
有用な非イオン界面活性剤は、一般的に、有機疎水性基及び有機親水性基の存在を特徴とし、典型的には、有機脂肪族、アルキル芳香族、又はポリオキシアルキレン疎水性化合物と、一般的には、エチレンオキシド又はその多水和生成物(polyhydration product)、ポリエチレングリコールである親水性アルカリ性オキシド部分との縮合によって生成される。具体的には、反応性水素原子を有するヒドロキシル、カルボキシル、アミノ、又はアミド基を有する任意の疎水性化合物を、エチレンオキシド、若しくはその多水和付加物、又はプロピレンオキシド等のアルコキシレンとのその混合物と縮合させて、非イオン表面活性剤を形成することができる。任意の特定の疎水性化合物と縮合する親水性ポリオキシアルキレン部分の長さは、親水性特性と疎水性特性との間の所望の程度のバランスを有する水分散性又は水溶性化合物を生成するように、容易に調節され得る。有用な非イオン性界面活性剤は、以下を含む。
5.エチレンオキシドをエチレングリコールに付加して指定の分子量の親水性物質を提供し;次いでプロピレンオキシドを付加して分子の外側(端部)に疎水性ブロックを得ることにより改質され、本質的に反転された(1)からの化合物。分子の疎水性部分は、約1,000から約3,100の分子量を有し、中心の親水性物質は、最終的な分子の10重量%から約80重量%を含む。これらの反転Pluronics(商標)は、BASF CorporationによりPluronic(商標)R界面活性剤の商標で製造されている。同様に、Tetronic(商標)R界面活性剤は、BASF Corporationにより、エチレンオキシド及びプロピレンオキシドのエチレンジアミンへの逐次的付加によって製造されている。分子の疎水性部分は、約2,100から約6,700の分子量を有し、中心の親水性物質は、最終的な分子の10重量%から約80重量%を含む。

半極性型の非イオン性表面活性剤は、本発明の組成物において有用な別のクラスの非イオン性界面活性剤である。一般に、半極性非イオン性物質は、高発泡物質及び泡安定剤であり、これはCIPシステムにおけるそれらの適用を制限し得る。しかしながら、高発泡浄化方法用に設計された本発明の組成上の実施形態において、半極性非イオン性物質は、即時的な実用性を有する。半極性非イオン性界面活性剤は、アミンオキシド、ホスフィンオキシド、スルホキシド及びそれらのアルコキシル化誘導体を含む。
疎水性物質の電荷が負であるためアニオンとして分類される界面活性物質、又はもしpHが中性若しくはそれ以上に上昇しなければ分子の疎水性部分が電荷を持たない界面活性剤(例えば、カルボン酸)もまた、本発明で有用である。カルボキシレート、スルホネート、スルフェート、及びホスフェートは、アニオン性界面活性剤中に見られる極性(親水性)可溶性基である。これらの極性基を伴うカチオン(対イオン)のうち、ナトリウム、リチウム、及びカリウムは、水溶性を付与し、アンモニウム及び置換アンモニウムイオンは、水溶性及び油溶性の両方を提供し、カルシウム、バリウム、及びマグネシウムは、油溶性を促進する。当業者には理解される通り、アニオンは、優れた洗浄性界面活性剤であるため、重質洗剤組成物への好ましい添加物である。

表面活性物質は、分子のヒドロトロープ部分上の電荷が正である場合、陽イオンと分類される。ヒドロトロープが、pHが中性近く、又はそれ以下まで下げられない限り電荷を帯びないが、その後陽イオン(例えばアルキルアミン)である界面活性剤も、この群に含まれる。理論的には、陽イオン界面活性剤は、「オニウム」構造RnX+Y--を含む元素のいずれの組み合わせからも合成され得、リン(ホスホニウム)及び硫黄(スルホニウム)等の窒素(アンモニウム)以外の化合物を含み得る。実際には、陽イオン界面活性剤の分野は、恐らく、窒素の陽イオン界面活性剤への合成経路が単純かつ容易であり、高収率の生成物を生じ、これが、窒素の陽イオン界面活性剤をより安価にするために、窒素含有化合物によって支配されている。
両性(Amphoteric)又は両性(ampholytic)界面活性剤は、塩基性親水性基及び酸性親水性基の両方、並びに有機疎水性基を含有する。これらのイオンの実体は、他の種類の界面活性剤に関して本明細書に記載される陰イオン基又は陽イオン基のうちのいずれかでもよい。塩基性窒素及び酸性カルボキシレート基は、塩基性親水性基及び酸性親水性基として使用される典型的な官能基である。少数の界面活性剤において、スルホネート、スルフェート、ホスホネート、又はホスフェートは、負電荷をもたらす。
双性イオン界面活性剤は、両性界面活性剤のサブセットと捉えられ得、陰イオン電荷を含み得る。双性イオン性界面活性剤は、第二級及び第三級アミンの誘導体、複素環式の第二級及び第三級アミンの誘導体、又は第四級アンモニウム、第四級ホスホニウム、若しくは第三級スルホニウム化合物の誘導体と、広く説明され得る。典型的には、双性イオン性界面活性剤は、正電荷を持つ第四級アンモニウム、又は場合によりスルホニウム若しくはホスホニウムイオンと、負電荷を持つカルボキシル基と、アルキル基とを含む。双性イオンは、一般に、分子の等電領域でほぼ等しい度合いまでイオン化し、正電荷-負電荷中心の間に強い「分子内塩」引力を発生し得る陽イオン及び陰イオン基を含有する。そのような双性イオン性の合成界面活性剤の例としては、脂肪族ラジカルが直鎖であっても分岐鎖であってもよく、脂肪族置換基のうちの1つが8~18個の炭素原子を含有し、1つが陰イオン性水溶化基、例えば、カルボキシ、スルホネート、スルフェート、ホスフェート、又はホスホネートを含有する、脂肪族第四級アンモニウム、ホスホニウム、及びスルホニウム化合物の誘導体が挙げられる。
本方法にて用いられる構成成分は、洗濯用途での使用に好適な様々な機能性構成成分と更に組み合わせることができる。これらの構成成分の選択は、除去される汚れのタイプに影響を受ける場合があり、本組成物及び方法に用いられる他の構成成分に基づき得る。これらの追加的な機能性構成成分を、予備洗浄ステップ、主洗浄ステップ、ブースターステップ、及び/又は酸味ステップに加えることができる。
本発明の方法は、主洗浄後に任意の酸味ステップを含み得る。酸性源ステップを使用して、あらゆるアルカリ性残留物を中和し、染み及び/又は汚れの除去を手助けすることができる。特定の汚れの除去、並びに特定の染みの除去及び/又は防止に、特に有用であり得る。任意の好適な酸味組成物を用いることができる。本発明の実施形態では、水酸化物系アルカリ分を含む主洗浄ステップを有する酸味ステップが好ましい場合がある。
本発明の方法における使用に好適な漂白剤は、ハロゲン系漂白剤又は酸素系漂白剤であり得る。しかしながら、酸素系漂白剤が好ましい。
本明細書において、キレート化とは、二座又は多座リガンドの結合又は錯体形成を意味する。これらのリガンドは、多くの場合有機化合物であり、キレート剤、キレータ、キレート剤、及び/又は水処理剤と呼ばれる。キレート剤は、単一の金属イオンと複数の結合を形成する。キレート剤は、特定の金属イオンと溶解性の錯体分子を形成する化学物質であり、イオンを不活性化し、その結果、それらは他の元素又はイオンと正常に反応して沈殿物又はスケールを生成することができない。リガンドは、基質とキレート錯体を形成する。この用語は、金属イオンがキレート剤の2つ以上の原子に結合された錯体に関するものである。本発明で使用するためのキレート剤は、結晶成長阻害特性を有するようなもの、すなわち、小さい炭酸カルシウム粒子及び炭酸マグネシウム粒子と相互作用し、それらが硬質スケール堆積物に凝集することを防止するようなものである。粒子は、互いに反発し、水中で浮遊したままか、又は沈降し得る緩いアグリゲートを形成する。これらの緩いアグリゲートは、簡単にすすぎ落とされ、堆積物を形成しない。
湿潤剤及び脱泡剤もまた、本発明の組成物中で有用である。湿潤剤は、本発明の抗菌組成物の表面接触又は浸透活性を高めるように機能する。本発明の組成物中で使用できる湿潤剤は、本発明の組成物の表面活性を高めるために、当技術分野において既知の成分のいずれかを含む。
様々な染料、香料を含む臭気剤、及び他の美的促進剤も、本発明の方法で利用する組成物中に含まれてもよい。染料、例えば、ダイレクトブルー86(Miles)、ファスツゾールブルー(Mobay Chemical Corp.)、アシッドオレンジ7(American Cyanamid)、ベーシックバイオレット10(Sandoz)、アシッドイエロー23(GAF)、アシッドイエロー17(Sigma Chemical)、サップグリーン(Keystone Analine and Chemical)、メタニルイエロー(Keystone Analine and Chemical)、アシッドブルー9(Hilton Davis)、サンドランブルー/アシッドブルー182(Sandoz)、ヒゾルファストレッド(Capitol Color and Chemical)、フルオレセイン(Capitol Color and Chemical)、及びアシッドグリーン25(Ciba-Geigy)等は、本組成物の外観を変化させるために含まれてもよい。本組成物に含まれてもよい芳香剤又は香料としては、例えば、シトロネロール等のテルペノイド、アミルシンナムアルデヒド等のアルデヒド、CIS-ジャスミン mjアスマール(mj asmal)等のジャスミン、バニリン等が挙げられる。
本発明の実施形態は、1つ以上の酵素の使用を含むことができる。1つ以上の酵素は、プロテアーゼを含むことができる。1つ以上の酵素は、アミラーゼを含むことができる。特定の実施形態では、この方法は、プロテアーゼ及びアミラーゼを用いる。酵素は、この方法の任意のステップにて、浄化組成物中に含まれ得る。いくつかの好ましい実施形態では、酵素は、予備洗浄ステップ中又はそれ独自のステップで使用されるブースター組成物である。
ヒドロトロープ成分を使用して、界面活性剤成分の安定化を手助けすることができる。ヒドロトロープ成分は、任意であり、界面活性剤成分の安定化に必要ない場合、省略することができることが理解されるべきである。多くの場合、ヒドロトロープ成分は、界面活性剤成分の安定化を手助けするために存在することが期待されている。
本組成物は、任意選択的に、いずれかのステップ中に溶媒を含むことができる。溶媒は、水への所望の溶解度及び他の構成成分との適合性に基づいて、選択することができる。特定の実施形態では、好ましい溶媒としては、アルコール又はポリオールを挙げることができる。メタノール、エタノール、プロパノール、及びイソプロパノールにより例示された低分子量一級又は二級アルコールが、好適である。一価アルコールは、界面活性剤を可溶化するために好ましいが、約2個~約6個の炭素原子、及び約2個~約6個のヒドロキシ基を含有しているもののようなポリオール(例えば、プロピレングリコール、エチレングリコール、グリセリン、及び1,2-プロパンジオール)も更に使用することができる。
上述のように、SRPの使用は、特定の汚れタイプ、特に工業的洗濯環境に見られる油性汚れの除去に望ましい。SRPは、織物上の汚れのその直接処理において有用であり得、更に、残留効果を有し得、それにより後に汚れが付着することを防止する。したがって、特定の状況では、洗濯が完了する際、織物上に残ることがSRPにとって有益であってよい。しかしながら、典型的な工業的洗濯方法と組み合わせた場合、SRPは、アルカリ分がSRPを加水分解するため、その効果的な特性を保持しないということが見出された。したがって、従来の工業的洗濯方法下では、SRPは、多くの場合加水分解され、洗濯方法中に汚れを除去するのに効果的ではなく、及び/又は生地への油の付着を防止できる残留効果のために生地上に残らない。
表7及び表8に示す2つの工業的洗浄主洗浄プロセスを、2タイプのアルカリ及び各個々のアルカリの投与量を比較して、評価した。洗浄プロセスを、28lbの65/35ポリ/コットン充填及び5グレーンの水を有する35lb洗濯機中で、各サイクルの間に乾燥を伴う5回連続サイクルで使用した。表7及び表8に記載の両方の洗剤試験にて、アルカリ以外の全ての化学物質を等しく投与した。表9及び表10は、例となるアルカリ組成物を示す。使用された洗剤は、Solvay製の5% Repel-O-Tex Crystalを含んでいた。
Claims (14)
- 織物材料、織布、不織布、若しくはニットから作製された、又は織物材料、織布、不織布、若しくはニットを含む物品の洗濯方法であって、
(a)洗濯される物品を提供するステップと、
(b)予備洗浄ステップにて前記物品と予備洗浄組成物及び水とを接触させるステップであって、前記予備洗浄ステップは、約6.5~約10.5のpHにて行われ、前記予備洗浄組成物は、汚れリリースポリマーを含み、前記予備洗浄組成物の水酸化物系アルカリ分が0.5重量%未満である、接触させるステップと、
(c)主洗浄ステップにて前記物品とアルカリ性洗剤を接触させるステップと、
(d)前記物品をすすぎ洗いするステップと、をこの順序で含み、(b)から(d)のステップが複数のサイクルにわたって行われる、方法。 - 前記予備洗浄ステップが、約6.5~約7.5のpHにて行われる、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記予備洗浄ステップが、約7.5~約10.5のpHにて行われ、前記予備洗浄組成物がアルカリ性源を更に含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
