Description
[1−1.全体構成]
本実施の形態に係るアクティブマトリクス表示装置1(以下、表示装置1と呼ぶ)の全体構成について、図1を基に説明する。図1は、表示装置1の一部切り欠き斜視図である。
まず、表示装置1の画素30の回路構成について説明する。図2Aは、表示装置1の画素30の概略構成を示す図である。
次に、表示装置1における画素30の配線の構成について、図3A〜図3Eを用いて説明する。なお、ここでは、X方向において隣り合う2つの画素30a、30bのうち、同色の副画素R1、R2に着目して説明する。
上記構成を有する表示装置1は、第1レイヤー41および第2レイヤー42がともに線対称に配置された比較例の表示装置に比べて、視野角特性を向上することができる。この理解を容易にするために、比較例における表示装置の構成を説明する。
図6は、実施の形態の変形例に係る画素30のうち、同色の副画素R1、R2の配線レイアウトを示す平面図である。変形例に係る画素30では、副画素R2の電源線PL(Vss)と信号線SLとの位置が、実施の形態と逆になっている。
以上、本発明に係るアクティブマトリクス表示装置1について、実施の形態に基づいて説明したが、本発明は上記の実施の形態に限定されるものではない。上述した実施の形態に対して本発明の主旨を逸脱しない範囲で当業者が思いつく各種変形を施して得られる変形例や、本発明に係るアクティブマトリクス表示装置1を内蔵した各種機器も本発明に含まれる。

Claims (8)
- マトリクス状に配置された複数の画素を備え、
前記複数の画素のそれぞれは、所定方向に沿って配列され互いに異なる色の光を出射する複数の副画素を有し、
前記複数の副画素のそれぞれは、TFT基板に設けられたTFT素子と、前記TFT基板上に設けられ前記TFT素子の駆動によって発光する発光素子とを有し、
前記発光素子は、発光した光を出射する領域である開口部を有し、
前記TFT基板は、第1レイヤーと第2レイヤーとを有し、
前記所定方向に隣り合う2つの前記画素のうち、同色の前記副画素を前記TFT基板の厚み方向から見た場合に、
前記第1レイヤーは、同色の前記副画素間において線対称に配置された部分を有し、
前記第2レイヤーは、前記副画素に電力を供給する電源線または前記副画素に信号電圧を供給する信号線を有する金属層を含み、
前記金属層は、同色の前記副画素のそれぞれの前記開口部において相対位置が同じとなるように配置されている
アクティブマトリクス表示装置。 - さらに、前記副画素のそれぞれに電力を供給する電源線を有し、
前記電源線は、前記所定方向と直交する方向に沿って延設され、前記所定方向に隣り合う前記副画素間にて共有されている

前記第2レイヤーは、前記第1レイヤーよりも前記発光素子側に配置されている

請求項1〜3のいずれか1項に記載のアクティブマトリクス表示装置。 - 前記第2レイヤーは、前記金属層と、前記金属層とは異なる層とを接続するコンタクト層を含む

前記第1レイヤーは、下部配線層および上部配線層を有し、
前記第2レイヤーは、前記金属層および前記コンタクト層を有し、
前記下部配線層は、前記基板上に設けられ、
前記第1絶縁層は、前記下部配線層を覆うように前記基板上に設けられ、
前記上部配線層は、前記第1絶縁層上に設けられ、
前記第2絶縁層は、前記上部配線層を覆うように前記第1絶縁層上に設けられ、
前記金属層は、前記第2絶縁層上に設けられ、
前記コンタクト層は、前記上部配線層に接し前記第2絶縁層を貫通して前記金属層に接続する層と、前記下部配線層に接し前記第1絶縁層および前記第2絶縁層を貫通して前記金属層に接続する層とを有し、
前記第3絶縁層は、前記金属層および前記コンタクト層を覆うように前記第2絶縁層上に設けられている
