Description
〔粘着性組成物〕
本発明の一実施形態に係る粘着性組成物は、電池用粘着シートの粘着剤層を形成するための粘着性組成物である。本明細書における「電池用粘着シート」は、電池の製造において電解液に接触する可能性のある箇所で使用される粘着シートであり、好ましくは電池の内部にて使用される粘着シートであり、電池内装用粘着シートであってもよい。電池としては、非水系電池であることが好ましい。したがって、その電池に使用する電解液は非水系電解液であることが好ましい。本明細書における電池用粘着シートは、非水系電池内部の電解液に浸漬する可能性のある部位または電解液に接触する可能性のある部位に貼付される粘着シートであることが好ましい。非水系電池としては、リチウムイオン電池が特に好ましい。
(1−1)(メタ)アクリル酸エステル重合体(A)
(メタ)アクリル酸エステル重合体(A)は、当該重合体を構成するモノマー単位として、分子内にカルボキシ基を有するモノマー(カルボキシ基含有モノマー)を含む。このカルボキシ基含有モノマー由来のカルボキシ基は、(メタ)アクリル酸エステル重合体(A)の架橋時に金属キレート系架橋剤(B)と反応し、それによって、三次元網目構造である架橋構造が形成される。このカルボキシ基と金属キレート系架橋剤(B)との反応による架橋構造を有する粘着剤は、電解液、特に非水系電解液に対する耐性が高く、当該電解液に接触しても溶出し難い。
金属キレート系架橋剤(B)としては、金属原子がアルミニウム、ジルコニウム、チタニウム、亜鉛、鉄、スズ等である金属キレート化合物を使用することができる。中でもアルミニウムキレート化合物が特に好ましい。アルミニウムキレート化合物は、前述した電解液への耐溶出性を特に効果的に発揮する。
粘着性組成物Pは、さらにシランカップリング剤(C)を含有することが好ましい。シランカップリング剤(C)を含有すると、粘着剤層が電解液に接触した場合であっても、被着体に対して(特に金属部材に対して)優れた粘着力を発揮する。また、電池用粘着シートにおいて基材の粘着剤層側の面にハードコート層が形成されている場合であっても、粘着剤層はハードコート層に対する密着性がより高いものとなる。そのため、電池用粘着シートの電解液溶媒への浸漬によってハードコート層と粘着剤層との界面で剥がれ等が生じることを防止し、電解液溶媒浸漬後の粘着力を高いものとすることができる。また、粘着剤層から剥離シートを剥離するときに、粘着剤層が剥離シートに転着してハードコート層から剥離することを効果的に抑制することができる。
粘着性組成物Pには、所望により、アクリル系粘着剤に通常使用されている各種添加剤、例えば粘着付与剤、酸化防止剤、軟化剤、充填剤などを添加することができる。なお、後述の重合溶媒や希釈溶媒は、粘着性組成物Pを構成する添加剤に含まれないものとする。
粘着性組成物Pは、(メタ)アクリル酸エステル重合体(A)を製造し、得られた(メタ)アクリル酸エステル重合体(A)と、金属キレート系架橋剤(B)と、所望により、シランカップリング剤(C)、他の架橋剤、添加剤を加えることで製造することができる。
本発明の一実施形態に係る電池用粘着シートは、基材と、基材の一方の面側に積層された粘着剤層とを備え、当該粘着剤層が、前述した粘着性組成物Pから形成されたものである。以下、好ましい実施形態に係る電池用粘着シートについて説明する。
本実施形態に係る電池用粘着シート1では、基材11は、UL94規格の難燃レベルV−0を満たす難燃性を有することが好ましい。基材11がこのような難燃性を有することにより、通常の電池の使用により発熱した場合であっても、基材11の変性や変形が抑制される。また、電池に不具合が発生し、過度に発熱した場合であっても、基材11の発火や燃焼が抑制され、重大な事故が防止される。
(1)ハードコート層の物性
本実施形態に係る電池用粘着シート1では、基材11に設けられた状態におけるハードコート層12は、#0000のスチールウールを用いて、250g/cm2の荷重でハードコート層12を10cm、10往復擦り、傷が生じないことが好ましい。このような耐スチールウール性の評価を有すると、電解液のハードコート層12の透過が効果的に遮断され、ハードコート層12の膨潤による無機フィラーの抜け出しが効果的に抑制される。
ハードコート層12は、有機成分と無機フィラーとを含有する組成物(以下「ハードコート層用組成物」ということがある。)から形成されることが好ましい。特に、ハードコート層12は、活性エネルギー線硬化性成分と無機フィラーとを含有する組成物を硬化させた材料からなることが好ましい。
活性エネルギー線硬化性成分としては、活性エネルギー線の照射により硬化して所望の硬度を発揮するものであれば特に限定されない。
本実施形態のハードコート層12を構成するハードコート層用組成物は、無機フィラーを含有することが好ましい。無機フィラーを含有することで、本実施形態のハードコート層12に剛性が付与され、高温下あるいは電解液浸漬下での衝撃等により電池用粘着シート1が破れたり穴が空いたりする等の破損を防止することができる。
本実施形態のハードコート層12を形成するための組成物は、上述した成分以外に、各種添加剤を含有してもよい。各種添加剤としては、例えば、光重合開始剤、酸化防止剤、帯電防止剤、シランカップリング剤、老化防止剤、熱重合禁止剤、着色剤、界面活性剤、保存安定剤、可塑剤、滑剤、消泡剤、有機系充填材等が挙げられる。
ハードコート層12の厚さは、0.1〜10μmであることが好ましく、特に0.5〜7μmであることが好ましく、さらには1〜4μmであることが好ましい。ハードコート層12の厚さが0.1μm以上であることにより、電解液によるハードコート層12の透過が効果的に遮断される。また、ハードコート層12の厚さが10μm以下であることにより、電池用粘着シート1が適度な柔軟性を有し、電極と電極取り出しタブとを固定する場合のように、段差が存在する面に電池用粘着シート1を貼付する場合であっても、電池用粘着シート1が当該段差に対して良好に追従することができる。
粘着剤層13は、前述した粘着性組成物Pから形成されたものである。粘着剤層13の形成方法は後述する。
本実施形態に係る電池用粘着シート1では、粘着剤層13を構成する粘着剤を非水系電解液の溶媒に80℃で72時間浸漬した後における粘着剤のゲル分率が、下限値として60%以上であることが好ましく、特に70%以上であることが好ましく、さらには80%以上であることが好ましい。上記ゲル分率の下限値が上記であることにより、粘着剤層13が電解液に接触した場合における粘着剤の溶出量が低く抑えられることとなる。それによって、電池用粘着シート1を使用した電池の誤作動、熱暴走および短絡がより効果的に抑制される。
粘着剤層13の厚さ(JIS K7130に準じて測定した値)は、1〜50μmであることが好ましく、特に3〜15μmであることが好ましく、さらには4〜9μmであることが好ましい。粘着剤層13の厚さが1μm以上であることにより、電池用粘着シート1は良好な粘着力を発揮することができる。また、粘着剤層13の厚さが50μm以下であることにより、粘着剤層13の端部から浸入する電解液の量を効果的に低減することができる。
剥離シート14は、電池用粘着シート1の使用時まで粘着剤層を保護するものであり、電池用粘着シート1を使用するときに剥離される。本実施形態に係る電池用粘着シート1において、剥離シート14は必ずしも必要なものではない。
本実施形態に係る電池用粘着シート1のアルミニウム板に対する粘着力(電解液溶媒浸漬前の粘着力)は、下限値として0.5N/25mm以上であることが好ましく、特に0.75N/25mm以上であることが好ましく、さらには1.0N/25mm以上であることが好ましい。電池用粘着シート1の電解液溶媒浸漬前の粘着力の下限値が上記であることにより、電池用粘着シート1が電解液に接触する前に、電池用粘着シート1が被着体(特に金属部材)から剥離する不具合が発生し難い。上記電解液溶媒浸漬前の粘着力の上限値は特に限定されないが、通常は50N/25mm以下であることが好ましく、特に40N/25mm以下であることが好ましく、さらには30N/25mm以下であることが好ましい。なお、本明細書における粘着力は、基本的にはJIS Z0237:2009に準じた180°引き剥がし法により測定した粘着力をいい、詳細な測定方法は後述する試験例にて示す通りである。
本実施形態に係る電池用粘着シート1は、例えば、基材11とハードコート層12との積層体、および粘着性組成物Pの塗膜と剥離シート14との積層体をそれぞれ作製し、ハードコート層12と粘着性組成物Pの塗膜とが接するようにこれらの積層体を貼合した後、養生して、粘着性組成物Pの塗膜から粘着剤層13を形成することで製造することができる。なお、ハードコート層12と粘着剤層13との密着性を向上させる観点から、これらのいずれかの層の貼合する面または両方の層の貼合する面に対し、コロナ処理、プラズマ処理などの表面処理を行ってから両層を貼合することも好ましい。
本発明の一実施形態に係るリチウムイオン電池は、電池の内部にて、前述した電池用粘着シートを用いて、2つ以上の導電体同士が接触した状態で固定されているものである。2つ以上の導電体の少なくとも1つはシート状であり、少なくとも1つは線状またはテープ状であることが好ましい。以下、好ましい実施形態に係るリチウムイオン電池について説明する。
1.基材上におけるハードコート層の形成
活性エネルギー線硬化性成分としてのジペンタエリスリトールヘキサアクリレート(硬化後にガラス転移点が観測されない材料)40質量部と、光重合開始剤としてのヒドロキシシクロヘキシルフェニルケトン5質量部と、無機フィラーとしてのオルガノシリカゾル(日産化学社製,商品名「MEK−ST」;平均粒径30nm)60質量部(固形分換算値;以下同じ)とを混合し、メチルエチルケトンで希釈することにより、ハードコート層用塗布液を調製した。
アクリル酸ブチル76.8質量部、アクリル酸メチル19.2質量部およびアクリル酸4質量部を溶液重合法により共重合させて、(メタ)アクリル酸エステル重合体を調製した。この重合体の分子量を後述するゲルパーミエーションクロマトグラフィー(GPC)を用いて測定したところ、重量平均分子量(Mw)は100万であった。
上記の通り作製した第1の積層体のハードコート層側の面と、上記の通り作製した第2の積層体の粘着性組成物の塗膜側の面とを貼合し、その後、23℃、50%RHで7日間養生した。これにより、粘着性組成物の塗膜が粘着剤層となった電池用粘着シートを得た。なお、粘着剤層の厚さは7μmであった。当該粘着剤層の厚さは、電池用粘着シートの総厚を求め、当該総厚から第1の積層体および上記剥離シートの厚さを差し引くことにより算出した。
実施例1で得られた(メタ)アクリル酸エステル重合体100質量部と、金属キレート系架橋剤としてのアルミニウムトリス(アセチルアセトネート)(綜研化学社製,商品名「M−5A」)0.31質量部と、イソシアネート系架橋剤としてのトリメチロールプロパン変性トリレンジイソシアネート(トーヨーケム社製,商品名「BHS8515」)2.35質量部と、シランカップリング剤としての3−グリシドキプロピルメチルジメトキシシラン(信越化学社製,商品名「KBM−403」)0.5質量部とを混合し、メチルエチルケトンで希釈することにより、粘着剤層用塗布液を調製した。粘着剤層用塗布液として、得られた粘着剤層用塗布液を使用する以外、実施例1と同様にして電池用粘着シートを製造した。
アクリル酸ブチル90質量部およびアクリル酸10質量部を溶液重合法により共重合させて、(メタ)アクリル酸エステル重合体を調製した。この重合体の分子量を後述するゲルパーミエーションクロマトグラフィー(GPC)を用いて測定したところ、重量平均分子量(Mw)は70万であった。(メタ)アクリル酸エステル重合体として、上記で得られた(メタ)アクリル酸エステル重合体を使用する以外、実施例1と同様にして電池用粘着シートを製造した。
活性エネルギー線硬化性成分としてのジペンタエリスリトールヘキサアクリレート(硬化後にガラス転移点が観測されない材料)30質量部と、光重合開始剤としてのヒドロキシシクロヘキシルフェニルケトン5質量部と、無機フィラーとしてのアルミナゾル(ビックケミージャパン社製,商品名「NANOBYK−3601」)70質量部とを混合し、メチルエチルケトンで希釈することにより、ハードコート層用塗布液を調製した。ハードコート層用塗布液として、得られたハードコート層用塗布液を使用する以外、実施例1と同様にして電池用粘着シートを製造した。
実施例1で得られた(メタ)アクリル酸エステル重合体100質量部と、イソシアネート系架橋剤としてのトリメチロールプロパン変性トリレンジイソシアネート(トーヨーケム社製,商品名「BHS8515」)2.35質量部と、シランカップリング剤としての3−グリシドキプロピルメチルジメトキシシラン(信越化学社製,商品名「KBM−403」)0.5質量部とを混合し、メチルエチルケトンで希釈することにより、粘着剤層用塗布液を調製した。粘着剤層用塗布液として、得られた粘着剤層用塗布液を使用する以外、実施例1と同様にして電池用粘着シートを製造した。
実施例1で得られた(メタ)アクリル酸エステル重合体100質量部と、イソシアネート系架橋剤としてのトリメチロールプロパン変性トリレンジイソシアネート(トーヨーケム社製,商品名「BHS8515」)4.7質量部と、シランカップリング剤としての3−グリシドキプロピルメチルジメトキシシラン(信越化学社製,商品名「KBM−403」)0.5質量部とを混合し、メチルエチルケトンで希釈することにより、粘着剤層用塗布液を調製した。粘着剤層用塗布液として、得られた粘着剤層用塗布液を使用する以外、実施例1と同様にして電池用粘着シートを製造した。
実施例1で得られた(メタ)アクリル酸エステル重合体100質量部と、エポキシ系架橋剤としての1,3−ビス(N,N−ジグリシジルアミノメチル)シクロヘキサン(大成化薬社製,商品名「マルタイトTC−5」)0.31質量部と、シランカップリング剤としての3−グリシドキプロピルメチルジメトキシシラン(信越化学社製,商品名「KBM−403」)0.5質量部とを混合し、メチルエチルケトンで希釈することにより、粘着剤層用塗布液を調製した。粘着剤層用塗布液として、得られた粘着剤層用塗布液を使用する以外、実施例1と同様にして電池用粘着シートを製造した。
アクリル酸ブチル99質量部およびアクリル酸4−ヒドロキシブチル1質量部を溶液重合法により共重合させて、(メタ)アクリル酸エステル重合体を調製した。この重合体の分子量を後述するゲルパーミエーションクロマトグラフィー(GPC)を用いて測定したところ、重量平均分子量(Mw)は150万であった。
<測定条件>
・GPC測定装置:東ソー社製,HLC−8020
・GPCカラム(以下の順に通過):東ソー社製
TSK guard column HXL−H
TSK gel GMHXL(×2)
TSK gel G2000HXL
・測定溶媒:テトラヒドロフラン
・測定温度:40℃
実施例および比較例の電池用粘着シートの製造の際に得られた第2の積層体の粘着性組成物の塗膜側の面と、ポリエチレンテレフタレートフィルムの片面をシリコーン系剥離剤で剥離処理した剥離シート(リンテック社製,商品名「PET251130」)の剥離処理面とを貼合した。その後、23℃、50%RHで7日間養生して、両面を剥離シートで保護された粘着剤層単独からなる測定用シートを得た。
本試験例による電池用粘着シートの粘着力は、以下に示す操作以外、JIS Z0237:2009に準じて測定した。

Claims (5)
- 基材と、前記基材の一方の面側に積層された粘着剤層とを備える電池用粘着シートであって、
前記基材における前記粘着剤層側の面には、ハードコート層が形成されており、
前記粘着剤層が、
重合体を構成するモノマー単位として、分子内にカルボキシ基を有するモノマーを含む(メタ)アクリル酸エステル重合体と、
金属キレート系架橋剤と
を含有する粘着性組成物から形成されたものである
ことを特徴とする電池用粘着シート。 - 前記粘着性組成物がシランカップリング剤を含有することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の電池用粘着シート。
- 前記粘着剤層を構成する粘着剤を非水系電解液の溶媒に80℃で72時間浸漬した後における前記粘着剤のゲル分率が、60%以上、100%以下であることを特徴とする請求項1または2に記載の電池用粘着シート。
- 前記基材が、主鎖に窒素含有環構造を有する重合体のフィルムであることを特徴とする請求項1〜3のいずれか一項に記載の電池用粘着シート。
- 電池の内部にて、請求項1〜4のいずれか一項に記載の電池用粘着シートを用いて、2つ以上の導電体同士が接触した状態で固定されている
ことを特徴とするリチウムイオン電池。
