Claims (3)
- 車幅方向に沿って配置される繊維強化樹脂製のバンパービーム(12)が、前後方向内側に開放するコ字状断面のバンパービーム本体(13)と、前記バンパービーム本体(13)の端縁から延びるフランジ部(22)とを備え、前記バンパービーム本体(13)および前記フランジ部(22)は連続繊維強化樹脂層(20)を含む自動車用バンパービームであって、前記バンパービーム(12)の上下の前記フランジ部(22)の端縁に、上下方向外側に延びて前後方向外側に屈曲するL字状断面を有する熱可塑性樹脂製の第1フランジ先端部(22a)を接続したバンパービーム(12)の製造方法において、
プレス成形金型(41)でプリプレグ(20′,21′)を加熱プレスして前記バンパービーム本体(13)および前記フランジ部(22)を成形する第1工程と、
前記プレス成形金型(41)内の前記フランジ部(22)の端縁に臨む位置に形成された空間(44)に熱可塑性樹脂を射出して前記第1フランジ先端部(22a)を成形する第2工程と、
を含むことを特徴とする自動車用バンパービームの製造方法。 - 前記第2工程後に、前記フランジ部(22)に取付孔(22c)を形成する第3工程と、
前記取付孔(22c)にカラー(23)を圧入あるいはカシメにより固定する第4工程と、
を含むことを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の自動車用バンパービームの製造方法。 - 前記第1工程において、前記プリプレグ(20′,21′)は積層された不連続繊維プリプレグ(21′)および連続繊維プリプレグ(20′)から成り、前記プレス成形金型(41)の雌型(42)および雄型(43)の成形面の間隔は、前記バンパービーム本体(13)および前記フランジ部(22)の境界において他の部分よりも大きいことを特徴とする、請求項1または請求項2に記載の自動車用バンパービームの製造方法。
