Description
多孔質体は、気体を通過させることはできるが液体は通過させ難い。従って、このようなシール部材とすれば、血液等の液体が弁体の基端側に至った場合であっても、これがシール部材と操作部材の間に血液が侵入するのを妨げることができる。
また、後記するように水膨潤性ポリマーは、水や血液等の液体を吸収して膨潤するので、より確実にシール部材に設けた疎水性フィルターを越えて基端側に血液が侵入するのを防ぐことができる。
図4に示すように、コネクタ20は、筒状体をなし、留置用カテーテル11の基端部に接続される。コネクタ20の基端部には、図示しないチューブの先端部が接続されている。そして、このチューブの基端部には、輸液剤Qが充填された図示しないバッグが接続されている。留置用カテーテル11は、コネクタ20が接続された接続状態で、前記バッグから輸液剤Qが供給される(図4参照)。
なお、輸液剤Qの供給を確実に行うため、コネクタ20には、留置用カテーテル11の基端部の外周に設けられた係止部32に係合してこれを固定する図示しないロック機構を有しているのが好ましい。
留置用カテーテル11は、中空のカテーテル2と、カテーテル2の基端部に固着され、その内部にカテーテル2内と連通する流路31を有するカテーテルハブ3で主に構成されている。また、カテーテルハブ3は、カテーテル2の血管への前進手技を容易にするために、外周面から突出したタブ36を有することが好ましい。
なお、弁体7の周縁部に連通部9を設ける場合は、弁体7の周縁部を貫く貫通孔であっても、弁体7の外周面に設けられた外周溝であってもよい。
図2に示すように、針4は、その基端部が針ハブ5に固着されている。針4は、カテーテル組立体1を組み立てた状態では、カテーテル2、弁体7および操作部材8内に挿通され、カテーテル2の先端開口部22から針4の鋭利な針先41が突出するように構成されている。この針先41により、生体表面を穿刺するためである。また、この状態では、針ハブ5の先端部がカテーテルハブ3の基端部に挿入され、嵌合している。
まず、カテーテル2内に針4が挿通されている状態のカテーテル組立体1のプロテクターPを外す。次いで、カテーテルハブ3を把持し、患者の血管に針4を穿刺する。カテーテル2により血管が確保されると、血圧により血液Rがカテーテル2と針4の間を通って基端方向へ流入する。カテーテル2またはカテーテルハブ3は無色透明、着色透明または半透明の材料で形成されているため血液Rの流入が視認できる。流入した血液Rは、流路31の弁体7が位置するところまで到達する。この際、血液Rと弁体7との間に閉じ込められた空気は連通部9(内周溝部9a)を通り、シール部材10(10’、10”)を介してこれの基端側に排気される。血液Rの流入を視認した後、さらに、カテーテル組立体1を微小距離先端方向へ進める。具体的には、カテーテルハブ3の外周面に形成したタブ36に指を引掛けて、カテーテル2を血管内の所定位置に前進させる。

Claims (5)
- 中空のカテーテルと、
前記カテーテルの基端部に固着され、その内部に前記カテーテル内と連通する流路を有するカテーテルハブと、
前記カテーテル内に挿通される針と、
前記針の基端部に固着され、前記カテーテルハブの基端側と接続可能な針ハブと、
を備えるカテーテル組立体において、
前記流路を塞ぐように配置され、開閉可能な開閉部を有する弁体と、
筒状体をなし、その一方の開口部が前記開閉部に挿入されて前記カテーテルハブの基端側と先端側とを連通するように設けられた操作部材と、
前記弁体が設けられた前記カテーテルハブの内周部または前記弁体の周縁部に設けられた、前記カテーテルハブの基端側と先端側とを連通させる連通部と、を有し、
前記弁体と前記操作部材の間に、前記連通部を塞ぐように設けられ、気体は通過させ、且つ液体を通過させない筒状体のシール部材を設けた
ことを特徴とするカテーテル組立体。 - 前記シール部材が多孔質体であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のカテーテル組立体。
- 前記シール部材は、筒状体の成型品を有し、当該成型品が前記弁体と密着する一の端面から他の端面にかけて貫通させた孔部および外周面に形成された外周溝部のうちの少なくとも一方が形成され、
前記他の端面に疎水性フィルターを設けたことを特徴とする請求項1に記載のカテーテル組立体。 - 形成された前記孔部および前記外周溝部の少なくとも一部に水膨潤性ポリマーがコーティングされていることを特徴とする請求項3に記載のカテーテル組立体。
- 前記シール部材は、筒状体の成型品を有し、当該成型品が前記弁体と密着する一の端面から他の端面にかけて貫通させた孔部および外周面に形成された外周溝部のうちの少なくとも一方が形成され、
形成された前記孔部内および前記外周溝部内の少なくとも一部に水膨潤性ポリマーがコーティングされていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のカテーテル組立体。
