Description
図1は、本発明に係るプロジェクターの第1実施形態の光学系を説明する概念図である。
以下、本発明に係るプロジェクターの第2実施形態について説明する。第2実施形態のプロジェクターは、第1実施形態のプロジェクターを変形したものであり、特に説明しない部分は、第1実施形態と同様である。
以下、本発明に係るプロジェクターの第3実施形態について説明する。第2実施形態のプロジェクターは、第1実施形態のプロジェクターを変形したものであり、特に説明しない部分は、第1実施形態と同様である。なお、本実施形態において、システム光軸SAを含み、かつ、XZ面に平行な面を基準面とする。
Claims (6)
- 照明光を変調して画像光を形成する液晶素子と、前記液晶素子の光射出側に配置され前記画像光を直線偏光の状態で射出させる光射出側偏光板とを有する光変調部と、
前記光変調部の後段に配置され、前記光射出側偏光板から射出された前記画像光の偏光状態を円偏光又は楕円偏光の状態にする第1の位相差板と、
前記第1の位相差板の後段に配置され、前記第1の位相差板から射出された前記画像光の偏光状態を制御信号に応じて切り替える偏光切替液晶パネルと、
前記偏光切替液晶パネルの後段に配置され、前記偏光切替液晶パネルから射出された前記画像光の偏光状態を直線偏光の状態にする第2の位相差板と、
前記第2の位相差板の後段に配置され、前記第2の位相差板から射出された前記画像光のうち前記偏光切替液晶パネルの特定の切替状態に対応する偏光方向の成分を選択的に屈折させる複屈折性基板と、
を備えるプロジェクター。 - 前記第1の位相差板は、λ/4位相差板であり、前記光射出側偏光板の透過軸方向に対して遅相軸を45°とするように配置され、前記光射出側偏光板から入射した前記画像光の偏光状態を円偏光の状態に変換する、請求項1に記載のプロジェクター。
- 前記第2の位相差板は、λ/4位相差板であり、前記偏光切替液晶パネルから入射した前記画像光の偏光状態を直線偏光の状態に変換する、請求項2に記載のプロジェクター。
- 前記第2の位相差板は、遅相軸を前記光射出側偏光板の透過軸方向に対して垂直方向又は平行方向とするように配置される、請求項1から請求項3までのいずれか一項に記載のプロジェクター。
- 前記光変調部は、各色の照明光に応じて色ごとの画像光をそれぞれ形成する各色用の複数の液晶素子と、当該複数の液晶素子に対応してそれぞれ設けられ前記画像光を直線偏光の状態で射出させる複数の光射出側偏光板とで構成され、
前記光変調部と前記第1の位相差板との間に配置され、前記複数の液晶素子で形成され前記複数の光射出側偏光板を通過した各色の前記画像光を合成して前記第1の位相差板に入射させる合成プリズムをさらに備える、請求項1から請求項4までのいずれか一項に記載のプロジェクター。 - 1組の前記第1の位相差板、前記偏光切替液晶パネル、前記第2の位相差板、及び前記複屈折性基板を有して第1方向への光路シフトを選択的に行う第1の光路切替部分と、
前記第1の光路切替部分の後段に配置され、別の1組の前記第1の位相差板、前記偏光切替液晶パネル、前記第2の位相差板、及び前記複屈折性基板を有して前記第1方向と異なる第2方向への光路シフトを選択的に行う第2の光路切替部分と、
を有する、請求項1から請求項5までのいずれか一項に記載のプロジェクター。
