Claims (4)
- 電解質膜の両側に一対の電極を設けた電解質膜・電極構造体とセパレータとが、立位姿勢で水平方向に積層されるとともに、前記セパレータには、電極面に沿って反応ガスを供給する反応ガス流路と、前記反応ガスを前記電解質膜・電極構造体と前記セパレータとの積層方向に流通させる反応ガス入口連通孔及び反応ガス出口連通孔とが設けられる燃料電池であって、
前記反応ガス流路と前記反応ガス入口連通孔とを連通する入口連結流路及び前記反応ガス流路と前記反応ガス出口連通孔とを連通する出口連結流路が設けられるとともに、
前記入口連結流路及び前記出口連結流路は、それぞれ前記セパレータを貫通する複数の貫通孔を有し、
前記セパレータの一方の面には、前記反応ガス入口連通孔及び前記入口連結流路の前記複数の貫通孔の全てを周回する入口流路シール部と、前記反応ガス出口連通孔及び前記出口連結流路の前記複数の貫通孔の全てを周回する出口流路シール部とを有する第1流路シール部が設けられ、
前記セパレータの他方の面には、前記入口連結流路の前記複数の貫通孔の全て、前記出口連結流路の前記複数の貫通孔の全て及び前記反応ガス流路を周回する第2流路シール部が設けられるとともに、
前記入口連結流路の前記複数の貫通孔及び前記出口連結流路の前記複数の貫通孔は、それぞれ重力方向に沿って配列され、
前記入口連結流路の前記複数の貫通孔及び前記出口連結流路の前記複数の貫通孔の中、少なくともいずれか一方の前記複数の貫通孔の最下端の貫通孔は、前記最下端の貫通孔の上方に隣接する他の貫通孔よりも大きな開口面積をして下方に延びる開口形状に設定されることを特徴とする燃料電池。 - 請求項1記載の燃料電池において、前記第1流路シール部又は前記第2流路シール部は、前記最下端の貫通孔の下方近傍に重力下方向に凹状となる凹状部を形成することを特徴とする燃料電池。
- 請求項2記載の燃料電池において、前記入口流路シール部又は前記出口流路シール部、及び前記第2流路シール部は、それぞれの下端部が前記反応ガス流路に向かって、前記反応ガス出口連通孔に向かって、又は前記反応ガス入口連通孔に向かって、下方に傾斜することを特徴とする燃料電池。
- 請求項1〜3のいずれか1項に記載の燃料電池において、前記入口連結流路は、前記セパレータの一方の面に設けられ、一端が前記反応ガス入口連通孔に連通し且つ他端が前記入口連結流路の前記複数の貫通孔の全てに連通する第1流路部と、
前記セパレータの他方の面に設けられ、一端が前記反応ガス流路に連通し且つ他端が前記入口連結流路の前記複数の貫通孔の全てに連通する第2流路部と、
を有し、
前記出口連結流路は、前記セパレータの一方の面に設けられ、一端が前記反応ガス出口連通孔に連通し且つ他端が前記出口連結流路の前記複数の貫通孔の全てに連通する第1流路部と、
前記セパレータの他方の面に設けられ、一端が前記反応ガス流路に連通し且つ他端が前記出口連結流路の前記複数の貫通孔の全てに連通する第2流路部と、
を有し、
前記入口連結流路の前記第1流路部及び前記入口連結流路の前記第2流路部は、水平方向から下方に又は上方に傾斜するとともに、
前記出口連結流路の前記第1流路部及び前記出口連結流路の前記第2流路部は、水平方向から下方に又は上方に傾斜することを特徴とする燃料電池。
