Description
・行(rows)と列(columns)の形に構成された、複数の発光ダイオード要素からなるセットであって、各要素は発光ダイオードと、前記発光ダイオードに給電するための降圧型電圧変換器が装備された少なくとも1つの要素とを含む、複数の発光ダイオード要素からなるセットと、
・前記1つの発光ダイオードの電圧変換器回路を制御するための制御回路と
を備える、例えば液晶ディスプレイなどのディスプレイ用のバックライト・デバイスにも関連する。
複数の基本ブロック20にグループ化された、複数の発光ダイオード要素からなるセット10であって、前記基本ブロックはn個の行とm個の列からなるアレイの形に構成され、各基本ブロックは少なくとも1つの発光ダイオード要素を含み、これら要素自体は基本ブロック内でアレイの形に構成され、この実施形態では、これは必須ではないが、複数のブロックはサイズが同じであり、これらの要素それぞれから放出される光は時間変調され、したがってこの複数の要素はPWMモード(パルス幅変調)で制御される、複数の発光ダイオード要素からなるセット10と、
セット10の複数の基本ブロックからなる行を順次選択する行選択回路11であって、セット10では、n個の、複数の基本ブロックからなる行を含み、選択回路11はn個の出力端を含み、各出力端は、セット10の、複数のブロックからなる1つの行を選択するように設計され、この後の説明では、Siは、アレイ10のブロックの行iを選択することを目的とする出力端を示す、行選択回路11と、
セット10の、複数のブロックからなる各列に、その列と選択回路11によって選択された行とが交差するポイントに位置する基本ブロックの要素を点灯させる制御信号を用いて、給電するための制御回路12であって、制御回路12はm個の出力端を含み、各出力端はセット10の複数の基本ブロックに接続され、この後の説明では、Cjは、セット10の列jに接続された出力端を示す、制御回路12とを備える。
Claims (11)
- 行と列の形に構成された発光ダイオード要素の組であって、各発光ダイオード要素は発光ダイオードと、前記発光ダイオードに給電するための、誘導性要素とダイオードとスイッチとを含んだ電圧変換器回路とを含む、発光ダイオード要素の組と、
前記少なくとも1つの発光ダイオードの電圧変換器回路を制御するための制御回路と、を備え、前記制御回路は、
前記組の発光ダイオード要素の行を順次選択するための行選択回路と、
前記行選択回路によって選択された前記行の前記発光ダイオード要素の前記第1の動作位相の時間をトリガし制御するための列制御回路と、を有し、
前記誘導性要素は、入力電流を供給する電圧コンバータ回路の入力供給電圧への第1の端子に結合され、
前記スイッチは、誘導性要素の第2の端子への電流入力および基準電圧への電流出力と結合されるトランジスタであり、
前記ダイオードは、電圧変換器回路の出力電流を入力供給電圧へフィードバックする誘導性要素と並列に結合されており、
前記発光ダイオードは、前記誘導性要素および前記入力供給電圧の間、または前記ダイオードおよび入力供給電圧の間に配置されている、ディスプレイ用のバックライトデバイス。 - 前記スイッチは、前記誘導性要素が第1の動作位相中にエネルギーを蓄積してから前記エネルギーを前記第1の動作位相に連続する第2の動作位相中に前記発光ダイオード中へ放出するように制御される請求項1に記載のデバイス。
- 前記発光ダイオード要素は基本ブロックに分割され、各基本ブロックは少なくとも1つの発光ダイオードを備え、前記選択回路は基本ブロックの行を順次選択し、前記制御回路は、前記選択回路によって選択された前記ブロックの前記要素の前記第1の動作位相の時間をトリガし制御する、請求項1又は2に記載のデバイス。
- 現在のブロックの1つの行、および次のブロックの1つの行にそれぞれ属する2つの基本ブロックの前記要素の前記第1の動作位相はかぶさらない、請求項3に記載のデバイス。
- 要素ごとに、前記第1の動作位相の時間は可変である、請求項4に記載のデバイス。
- 前記第1の動作位相の前記時間は、ある最小時間と最大時間の間に含まれる、請求項5に記載のデバイス。
- 前記次の行の前記ブロックの前記第1の動作位相は、前記現在の行の前記ブロックの前記第1の動作位相の開始後で、前記最大時間に等しい期間の終了時に始まる、請求項6に記載のデバイス。
- 光を生成するためのバックライトデバイスと、前記バックライトデバイスによって生成された前記光で照射される、ビデオフレーム期間中に画像を表示するための画像デバイスとを備えるディスプレイであって、前記バックライトデバイスは、請求項1から7のいずれか一項に記載の前記バックライトデバイスによるものである、ディスプレイ。
- 前記第1および第2の動作位相を含む前記バックライトデバイスの前記動作期間は、前記ビデオフレーム期間と同期する、請求項8に記載のディスプレイ。
- 前記ビデオフレームの前記期間は、前記バックライトデバイスの前記動作期間の前記時間の倍数である、請求項9に記載のディスプレイ。
- 前記バックライトデバイスの前記動作期間の前記時間は50μs未満である、請求項10に記載のディスプレイ。
