Description
図2に示すものと同様な多色発光素子を作成した。本例においては、発光層12としては緑と赤との2色の発光スペクトルを有するもののみを形成した。
実施例1における緑の発光層、赤の発光層の形成する順番を変えて、すなわち、第一発光層としてCBPをホスト、Ir(piq)3をゲストとした混合層を、第二発光層として、Alq3をホスト、Coumarin6をゲストとした混合層をそれぞれ用いて素子Bを作成した。作成方法は、実施例1とほぼ同様である。また、本参考例では第一、第二発光層に対応する電極は、共通で行った。
本例においては、図8に示す構成、すなわち陰極側から光を取り出す構成(トップエミッション構成)で多色発光素子を作成した。
Claims (1)
- 下部電極と、第1の電荷輸送層と、前記第1の電荷輸送層上に配置される発光層と、前記発光層の上に配置される第2の電荷輸送層と上部電極とを有する有機EL素子が1画素として基板上に複数配置されている有機EL素子アレイにおいて、
第1の有機EL素子の前記第1の電荷輸送層は、隣に配置されている第2の有機EL素子を構成する前記第1の電荷輸送層と画素間領域を介して共通して形成されている層であり、
前記第1の有機EL素子の前記第2の電荷輸送層は、前記隣に配置されている前記第2の有機EL素子を構成する前記第2の電荷輸送層と前記画素間領域を介して共通して形成されている層であり、
前記画素間領域の構成が、前記第1の電荷輸送層、前記第1の有機EL素子の第1の発光層、前記第2の有機EL素子の第2の発光層、前記第2の電荷輸送層の順に形成されており、
前記第1の発光層と前記第2の発光層は異種のキャリア輸送性を有し、
前記第1の電荷輸送層と前記第1の発光層は異種のキャリア輸送性を有し、且つ前記第1の電荷輸送層と前記第2の発光層は同種のキャリア輸送性を有していることを特徴とする有機EL素子アレイ。
