Claims (12)
- 内燃機関の排気通路の一部を形成し、内部に吸蔵還元型のNOx触媒を収容するケーシングと、前記NOx触媒よりも上流側にてケーシング内に還元剤を供給する還元剤供給手段と、を備えた内燃機関の排気浄化装置において、
前記還元剤供給手段は、前記ケーシング内に配置された噴射孔から前記NOx触媒の中心線と交差する方向に扁平に還元剤を噴射し、
前記噴射孔からは、前記NOx触媒の上流側端面に対して垂直に広がる方向の幅よりも前記NOx触媒の上流側端面に対して水平に広がる方向の幅が広い形状を形成するように還元剤が噴射されることを特徴とする内燃機関の排気浄化装置。 - 前記噴射孔からは、前記NOx触媒の上流側端面に沿うように扁平に還元剤が噴射されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の内燃機関の排気浄化装置。
- 前記噴射孔からは、前記NOx触媒の上流側端面に到達した還元剤が該上流側端面上において所定方向に長くこの所定方向と直交する方向には幅が狭い形状を形成するように還元剤が噴射されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の内燃機関の排気浄化装置。
- 前記噴射孔は、前記NOx触媒の外周よりも外側に配置されていることを特徴とする請求項1〜3のいずれか一項に記載の内燃機関の排気浄化装置。
- 前記ケーシングの上流側に設けられ、前記NOx触媒の上流側端面に斜めに排気が導入されるように該上流側端面に対して傾斜した排気導入部を備え、
前記還元剤供給手段は、前記NOx触媒に流入する排気と略平行に、かつこの排気の流れと同じ方向に還元剤を噴射することを特徴とする請求項1〜4のいずれか一項に記載の内燃機関の排気浄化装置。 - 前記NOx触媒への排気の流入を許可する位置とその流入を阻止する位置とに切替可能な排気制御バルブと、前記排気制御バルブの動作を制御する動作制御手段と、を備え、
前記動作制御手段は、排気の空燃比を一時的にリッチ側に設定するリッチスパイク時に前記排気制御バルブを前記NOx触媒への排気の流入を阻止する位置に切り替え、その後前記NOx触媒の空間速度が低下し始めてから前記排気通路に還元剤が添加されるように前記還元剤供給手段の動作を制御することを特徴とする請求項1〜5のいずれか一項に記載の内燃機関の排気浄化装置。 - 内燃機関の排気通路を形成し、同一の上流管から分岐する複数の分岐管を有する排気管と、各分岐管にそれぞれ設けられるとともに吸蔵還元型のNOx触媒がそれぞれ収容されるケーシングと、各ケーシングにそれぞれ設けられ、前記NOx触媒よりも上流側にてケーシング内に還元剤を供給する還元剤供給手段と、を備えた内燃機関の排気浄化装置において、
前記還元剤供給手段は、前記ケーシング内に配置された噴射孔から前記NOx触媒の中心線と交差する方向に扁平に還元剤を噴射し、
前記噴射孔からは、前記NOx触媒の上流側端面に対して垂直に広がる方向の幅よりも前記NOx触媒の上流側端面に対して水平に広がる方向の幅が広い形状を形成するように還元剤が噴射されることを特徴とする内燃機関の排気浄化装置。 - 前記噴射孔からは、前記NOx触媒の上流側端面に沿うように扁平に還元剤が噴射されることを特徴とする請求項7に記載の内燃機関の排気浄化装置。
- 前記噴射孔からは、前記NOx触媒の上流側端面に到達した還元剤が該上流側端面上において所定方向に長くこの所定方向と直交する方向には幅が狭い形状を形成するように還元剤が噴射されることを特徴とする請求項7に記載の内燃機関の排気浄化装置。
- 前記噴射孔は、前記NOx触媒の外周よりも外側に配置されていることを特徴とする請求項7〜9のいずれか一項に記載の内燃機関の排気浄化装置。
- 各ケーシングの上流側には各ケーシングに収容されているNOx触媒の上流側端面に斜めに排気が導入されるように該上流側端面に対して傾斜した排気導入部がそれぞれ設けられ、
前記還元剤供給手段は、前記NOx触媒に流入する排気と略平行に、かつこの排気の流れと同じ方向に還元剤をそれぞれ噴射することを特徴とする請求項7〜10のいずれか一項に記載の内燃機関の排気浄化装置。 - 各分岐管にそれぞれ設けられ、各分岐管に設けられたNOx触媒への排気の流入を許可する位置とその流入を阻止する位置とに切り替え可能な排気制御バルブと、これらの排気制御バルブの動作を制御する動作制御手段と、を備え、
前記動作制御手段は、NOx触媒に吸蔵されたNOxを還元させるべく排気の空燃比を一時的にリッチ側に設定するリッチスパイク時に、NOxを還元させるNOx触媒への排気の流入が阻止されるように各排気制御バルブの動作を制御し、その後このNOx触媒の空間速度が低下し始めてからこのNOx触媒に還元剤が添加されるように各還元剤供給手段の動作を制御することを特徴とする請求項7〜11のいずれか一項に記載の内燃機関の排気浄化装置。
