Abstract
【解決手段】本発明に係るガラスフレークを基礎とする多層顔料は、厚み1μm未満のガラスフレークが(S1)SnO2層で被覆されており、該層(S1)が、(A)屈折率n>1.8である被覆、(B)屈折率n≦1.8である被覆、および、(C)屈折率n>1.8である被覆、の層配列の少なくとも1つで被覆されており、但し、層束(A)+(B)が層配列(A)+(B)+(C)に4回まで存在してもよく、層が金属酸化物、金属サブオキサイド、金属フッ化物、金属オキシハライド、金属カルコゲナイド、金属硫化物、金属窒化物、金属酸化窒化物、金属カーバイド、あるはこれらの混合物からなる。

例1
最大径40μm(平均22μm)かつ平均厚み0.5μmのガラスフレーク(屈折率1.5)100gが脱イオン水2リットルに分散される。激しい撹拌下にスラリーは75℃へ加熱され、ガラスフレークに対しSnO2で3%の量となるSnCl4水溶液を0.5時間かけて供給して被覆が開始される。pH2.0になるとすぐに32%NaOH溶液が、pHをこの値が保たれるように同時に供給される。
これは例1と同様に行なわれた。ガラスフレークの代わりに同じ粒子サイズ分布の雲母が用いられる。
最大径40μm(平均22μm)かつ平均厚み0.5μmのガラスフレーク(屈折率1.5)100gが脱イオン水2リットルに分散される。分散物は75℃へ加熱され、pHが希塩酸で1.8に調整され、まず、最初にSnCl4溶液(脱イオン水100mlにSnCl4 2.2gと濃塩酸7.5mlから)を3.3ml/分で加えることによりSnO2で被覆される。pHは32%水酸化ナトリウム溶液を用いて一定に保たれる。

使用例1:ちらちら光るおしろい
相Cの全成分を75℃ですべてのものが溶解するまで撹拌しながら加熱する。高い撹拌(Turrax)下に相Bの冷水にBlanoseおよびVeegumを別々に加える。75℃に加熱し、相Bの残りの成分を加え、混合物が滑らかで均一になるまで混合する。相Aの成分を加える。75℃で相Cを相A/Bに加え、2分間均質化する。相Dを40℃で加える。撹拌しながら室温まで冷却し、pHを6.0〜6.5に調整する(例えば、クエン酸溶液)。

ポリエチレン(PE−HD)顆粒1kgが、タンブル混合機中で、粘着剤2gで均一に湿らかされる。次いで、例4に従う被覆ガラスフレーク10gとIriodin LS825(Merck KGaA社(Darmstadt Germany)製の粒子サイズ15μm未満の導電性顔料)2gが加えられ、2分間混合される。

- 厚み1μm未満のガラスフレークが(S1)SnO2層で被覆されており、該層(S1)が、
(A)屈折率n>1.8である被覆、
(B)屈折率n≦1.8である被覆、および、
(C)屈折率n>1.8である被覆、
の層配列の少なくとも1つで被覆されており、
但し、層束(A)+(B)が層配列(A)+(B)+(C)に4回まで存在してもよく、

- 屈折率n≦1.8の層がSiO2、Al2O3、AlO(OH)、B2O3、MgF2、あるいはこれらの混合物からなることを特徴とする請求項1または2に記載の多層顔料。
- 前記層(A)が、TiO2であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の多層顔料。
- 前記層(B)が、SiO2またはMgF2であることを特徴とする請求項5に記載の多層顔料。
- 前記層(C)が、TiO2、Fe2O3、またはTiO2/Fe2O3あることを特徴とする請求項5または6に記載の多層顔料。
- 前記層配列が、さらに、(D)保護外層を有することを特徴とする、請求項1〜7のいずれか1項に記載の多層顔料。
- ガラスフレークが3層被覆されていることを特徴とする請求項1〜8のいずれか1項に記載の多層顔料。
- 湿式化学被覆法によるか化学的または物理的気相堆積法によってガラスフレークを被覆すること、および被覆されたガラスフレークを焼成することを含む方法により製造されたものである請求項1〜9のいずれか1項に記載の多層顔料。
- 請求項1〜9のいずれか1項に記載の多層顔料を製造する方法であって、湿式化学被覆法によるか化学的または物理的気相堆積法によってガラスフレークを被覆すること、および被覆されたガラスフレークを焼成することを含む多層顔料を製造する方法。
- 請求項1〜9のいずれか1項に記載の多層顔料の、プラスチック、塗装材、粉末塗装材、ペンキ、インキ、印刷インキ、ガラス、陶磁器、農業用フォイルでの、または、化粧処方での使用、あるいは、紙およびプラスチックのレーザーマーキングのための使用。
- 請求項1〜9のいずれか1項に記載の多層顔料を含む処方。
- 請求項1〜9のいずれか1項に記載の多層顔料を含む非粉塵粉末、ペーストおよび顆粒。
