Abstract
Description
本発明は、連続ニーダー反応器中で、反応器容積1m3あたり多くても10m3/hの不活性ガス流量下での重合によって、低い遠心分離保持容量(CRC)を有する吸水性ポリマー粒子の製造方法に関する。
a)少なくとも部分的に中和されていてよい、少なくとも1種のエチレン性不飽和の酸基含有モノマー、
b)少なくとも1つの架橋剤、
c)少なくとも1つの開始剤、
d)場合により1つ以上のa)で挙げられたモノマーと共重合可能なエチレン性不飽和モノマー及び
e)場合により1つ以上の水溶性ポリマー、
を含有するモノマー溶液又はモノマー懸濁液の重合による、少なくとも2つの軸線に平行な軸を有する連続ニーダー反応器中で、不活性ガス流下での吸水性ポリマー粒子の製造方法において、
該不活性ガス流量が、反応器容積1m3あたり多くても10m3/hであり、かつ重合によって得られた均一に架橋された吸水性ポリマー粒子が、多くても38g/gの遠心分離保持容量を示すことを特徴とする吸水性ポリマー粒子の製造方法によって解決される。
本発明による方法によって得られる均一に架橋された吸水性ポリマー粒子(ベースポリマー)は、有利には多くても37g/g、有利には多くても36.5g/g、特に有利には多くても36g/g、極めて特に有利には多くても35.5g/gの遠心分離保持容量(CRC)を示す。前記吸水性ポリマー粒子の遠心分離保持容量(CRC)は、通常では少なくとも20g/gである。前記遠心分離保持容量は、EDANA(European Disposables and Nonwovens Association)に推奨される試験方法番号WSP 241.2−05"Centrifuge Retention Capacity"によって定義され、その際該吸水性ポリマー粒子を測定前に5質量%より少ない含水率まで乾燥させ、かつ粒子サイズを、150〜850μmの範囲で粉砕する。
実施例1(比較例)
水、50質量%の水酸化ナトリウム溶液およびアクリル酸の連続的な混合によって、中和度が72mol%となるように、アクリル酸/アクリル酸ナトリウム溶液を製造した。モノマー溶液の固体含有率は、39質量%であった。該モノマー溶液を、成分の混合後に、熱交換器によって連続的に冷却した。
実施例1と同様に実施した。モノマー溶液の不活性化のために使用される窒素量を使用した。不活性ガス流量は、従って反応器容積1m3あたり0.38m3/hであった。ニーダー軸の電力消費は、最大電力消費の79%に上昇した。この実験を中止した。
実施例1と同様に実施した。3箇所エトキシ化されたグリセリルトリアクリレートの使用量は、モノマー溶液1tあたり1.5kgであり、そして小粒の返送させた量は、1000kg/hに増加した。ニーダー軸の電力消費は、最大電力消費の72%であった。
実施例3と同様に実施した。モノマー溶液の不活性化のために使用される窒素量を使用した。不活性ガス流量は、従って反応器容積1m3あたり0.38m3/hであった。ニーダー軸の電力消費は、引き続き最大電力消費の72%であった。
Claims (11)
- 以下、
a)少なくとも部分的に中和されていてよい、少なくとも1種のエチレン性不飽和の酸基含有モノマー、
b)少なくとも1つの架橋剤、
c)少なくとも1つの開始剤、
d)場合により1つ以上のa)で挙げられたモノマーと共重合可能なエチレン性不飽和モノマー及び
e)場合により1つ以上の水溶性ポリマー、
を含有するモノマー溶液又はモノマー懸濁液の重合による、少なくとも2つの軸線に平行な軸を有する連続ニーダー反応器中で、不活性ガス流下での吸水性ポリマー粒子の製造方法において、
該不活性ガス流量が、反応器容積1m3あたり多くても10m3/hであり、かつ重合によって得られた均一に架橋された吸水性ポリマー粒子が、多くても38g/gの遠心分離保持容量を示すことを特徴とする、吸水性ポリマー粒子の製造方法。 - 前記ニーダー反応器の反応器容量が1〜10m3であることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記反応混合物を、軸方向にニーダー反応器によって輸送することを特徴とする、請求項1又は2に記載の方法。
- 前記不活性ガスが窒素であることを特徴とする、請求項1から3までのいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 前記不活性ガス流量を、少なくとも部分的に、共通の供給管を通って、モノマー溶液又はモノマー懸濁液と共に、ニーダー反応器中に計量供給することを特徴とする、請求項1から4までのいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 前記不活性ガス流量を、共通の供給管を通って、モノマー溶液又はモノマー懸濁液と共に、ニーダー反応器中に計量供給することを特徴とする、請求項1から5までのいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 前記モノマー溶液が、モノマーa)に対して、少なくとも1つのヒドロキノンモノエーテル0.001〜0.013質量%を含有することを特徴とする、請求項1から6までのいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 前記重合が、酸化還元重合であることを特徴とする、請求項1から7までのいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 前記モノマー溶液又はモノマー懸濁液とは別々に前記還元剤を、ニーダー反応器中に計量供給することを特徴とする、請求項8に記載の方法。
- 前記吸水性ポリマー粒子を後架橋することを特徴とする、請求項1から9までのいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 前記吸水性ポリマー粒子が、少なくとも15g/gの遠心保持容量を有することを特徴とする、請求項1から10までのいずれか1項に記載の方法。
