Claims (20)
- 複数のウェハ形コネクタ要素であって、コネクタ要素の各々は、複数の導電性端子を垂直に位置合せされた向きで支持する骨組ネットワークの形態の絶縁ハウジングを含み、ネットワークは、端子の隣接する水平縁の間に配設され前記端子を前記垂直の向きで支持するハウジング材料を含み、前記端子の垂直な側面は空気に晒されており、前記ウェハコネクタ要素ハウジングの各々は、その周囲の周りに延在するリブを含み、このリブは各ハウジングの本体部を横切る方向に延在して前記ウェハコネクタ要素の両側に凹部を画定し、その結果、2個のウェハコネクタ要素が互いに隣接して取付けられたとき、それらの間にキャビティが画定され、前記端子は第1の端部に終端部分を含むとともに第2の端部に接点部分を含み、接点部分の各々が対応する端子の本体部分から延在する一対の接点アームを含むコネクタ要素と、

前記コネクタと嵌合する嵌合ヘッダ部材であって、複数の開口部を形成した絶縁性ベース部分を含み、開口部の各々がその中に導電性端子を支持しており、端子は、その両端にブレード接点部分とテール部分とを含み、ブレード接点部分は、前記コネクタとヘッダ部材とが嵌合されたときに前記コネクタ接点アームがブレード接点部分に対して摺動するように前記ヘッダ部材内に配設された嵌合ヘッダ部材とを有する高速コネクタ組立体。 - 前記ウェハコネクタ要素の各々は、2個の対向する半体から構成されている、請求項1に記載のコネクタ組立体。
- 前記端子の接点アームは互いに反対の方向に延在している、請求項2に記載のコネクタ組立体。
- 差動信号アプリケーションのための電気コネクタであって、
複数のコネクタ要素を有し、該コネクタ要素の各々が2列の端子列に配設された複数の導電性端子を支持し、端子は、前記コネクタ要素の第1の縁から延在する接点部分と、前記コネクタ要素の第2の縁から延在するテール部分と、前記コネクタ要素に支持されるとともに端子の接点部分とテール部分とを相互に接続する本体部分とを備え、
2列の端子列は協力して、関連付けられた端子の複数の対を形成し、各組の端子は、前記端子接点部分から前記端子テール部分まで、前記コネクタ要素内において互いに側面で位置合せされ、前記関連付けられた端子対の各々の対の端子の間に位置するように個別の空気チャネルが前記コネクタ要素内に配設され、前記第1の縁から第2の縁まで前記コネクタ要素全体に亘って完全に延在している電気コネクタ。 - 前記コネクタ要素の各々は、2個のコネクタ要素半体から構成され、該コネクタ要素半体の各々が前記端子列の1つを支持している、請求項4に記載のコネクタ。
- 前記コネクタ要素半体の各々が前記端子列の1つを支持する骨組枠体を含む、請求項5に記載のコネクタ。
- 前記テール部分はコンプライアントピンを含み、該コンプライアントピンは前記端子本体部分からオフセットして配設され、この結果、1個のコネクタ要素のコンプライアントピンの前記2つの列の間の間隔が、1個のコネクタ要素の前記端子本体部分の前記2つの列の間の間隔よりも大きい、請求項4に記載のコネクタ。
- 前記列の各々の前記端子は前記コネクタ要素の対向する半体のリブによって縁方向に離間されている、請求項5に記載のコネクタ。
- 隣接するコネクタ要素内の前記端子対は空間によって互いに離間されている、請求項4に記載のコネクタ。
- 少なくとも1個のコネクタ要素の第1の縁を包囲するカバー部材を更に含み、該カバー部材は、前記端子の接点部分を収容するスロット対を含み、該スロット対は、前記端子対を分離する前記空気チャネルに開口する介在開口部によって相互接続されている、請求項4に記載のコネクタ。
- 複数のコネクタ要素の第1の縁を包囲するカバー部材を更に含み、該カバー部材の嵌合面にスロット対が配設されており、該スロットは関連付けられた端子対の端子接点部分を収容し、スロット対は、前記端子対を分離する前記空気チャネルに開口する介在開口部によって相互接続されている、請求項4に記載のコネクタ。
- 前記対向する半体の各々は複数のスタンドオフ部分を含み、該スタンドオフ部分のいくつかは外方に延出するポストを含み、前記スタンドオフ部分の他のものは内部に延在する穴を含み、単一のコネクタ要素を形成するために前記対向する半体が互いに接合されたとき、前記ポストが前記穴内に収容される、請求項5に記載のコネクタ。
- 前記端子の接点部分の各々は、前記コネクタ要素の第1の縁から片持状に延出する一対の接点アームを含む、請求項4に記載のコネクタ。
- 複数のコネクタ要素の第1の縁を包囲するカバー部材を更に含み、該カバー部材には複数のH形の開口部が配設されており、関連する端子対の接点アームが、H形の開口部の4個の角部を部分的に占有している、請求項13に記載のコネクタ。
- 前記コネクタと嵌合する嵌合ヘッダ部材を更に含み、該ヘッダ部材は、複数の開口部を形成した絶縁性ベース部分を含み、開口部の各々がその中に導電性端子を支持しており、端子は、その両端にブレード接点部分とテール部分とを含み、ブレード接点部分は、前記コネクタとヘッダ部材とが嵌合されたときに前記コネクタ接点アームがブレード接点部分に対して摺動するように前記ヘッダ部材内に配設されている、請求項13に記載のコネクタ。
- 前記ベース部分開口部は、前記端子対の間に延在するチャネルを含む、請求項15に記載のコネクタ。
- 前記ヘッダ部材開口部はH形であり、開口部がそれぞれ、横断部分によって相互接続された1対の平行な脚部分を含み、前記ヘッダ部材端子対が、各開口部の前記脚部分内に収容され、前記横断部分が、前記ヘッダ部材端子対の間に空気チャネルを画定する、請求項16に記載のコネクタ。
- 前記ヘッダ部材は、1対の端壁を含み、端壁は、前記コネクタ要素と係合して前記コネクタ要素を前記ヘッダ部材内にガイドする溝を含む、請求項15に記載のコネクタ。
- 前記ヘッダ部材端子テール部分は、コンプライアントピンテール部分を含み、該コンプライアントピンテール部分は、前記ブレード接点部分の中心線からオフセットされている、請求項15に記載のコネクタ。
- 前記ヘッダ部材端子の各々は、コンプライアントピンテール部分を含み、該コンプライアントピンテール部分は、前記ブレード接点部分の中心線からオフセットされており、前記ヘッダ部材ベース部分の開口部はH形であり、対向する接点対のコンプライアントピン部分は、前記H形開口部の斜向いの角部に配設されている、請求項16に記載のコネクタ。
