Abstract

1442339 Electrical connector AMP Inc 14 Dec 1973 [4 Jan 1973] 58008/73 Addition to 1373986 Heading H2E An electrical connector 10 to make connection between a printed circuit panel 18 and a panel 14 comprising an integrated circuit, has a hollow portion 56 for receiving panel 14 and contacts 34 which connect respective conductive pads 12 on the panel 14 to conductive tracks 16 on the panel 18. The panel 14 may be held in place by a strap 116 whose ends 122 are secured under bridges 118 in the connector 10. Each contact 34 is disposed in a slot 68 and has a resilient arm 88 which in the absence of panel 14 rests against a shoulder 82. One end 100 of the contact 34 is soldered to a conductive track 16. Holes 54 in the connector 10 provide cooling passages.
