999,635. Pneumatic conveyers. STAMICARBON N.V. May 10, 1962, No. 18080/62. Heading B8A. In a pneumatic system for stowage in mines in which compressed air supplied to a pipeline 1, Fig. 1, carries material from a mechanical feeder 8 in a coal mine gallery for delivery to conduits 10; the supply of air is maintained substantially constant, independently of the air supply pressure or resistance to flow in the conduit 10. The rate of air supply is varied by a valve 4 under the control of an aerometer 5 having connections to a measuring orifice 3 and to the supply line. The rate of mechanical feed may also be controlled through a meter 11 connected to measure the air pressure difference across the mechanical feed and operating to vary the feed so that the pressure difference is maintained constant. Water for preventing dust evolution is injected into the pipe-line at a point 13 which is approximately 20 meters from the end of the pipe-line.
