Abstract
994,106. Doffing bobbins. MAATSCHAPPIJ VOOR INDUSTRIELE RESEARCH EN ONTWIKKELING N.V. March 31, 1964 [April 8, 1963], No. 13156/64. Heading D1D. [Also in Division B8] Tube 5 has a coaxial clamping element 1 resiliently pressed against one end thereof to grip a yarn. As described yarn 16 which is trailing between a traveller of a ring spinning frame and a doffed full tube is pushed by a plate 10 inbetween element 1 and tube 5, and while tensioned by member 12, fitting into recess 7 in the element, is severed by knife 14 fitting into recess 8. Plate 10 is mounted on a rail of the spinning frame, the rail being movable towards the spinning spindle. Clamping element 1 may be of metal or synthetic resin, with a rubber insert 9 to grip the yarn and a spring 6 to press it against the tube, or may be made of resilient rubber.
