993,953. Plate - type heat exchangers. L. HENDERSON. Dec. 24, 1963 [Dec. 27, 1962], No. 48687/62. Heading F4S. [Also in Division B3] A heat exchanger comprises a stack of flat and corrugated plates 1, 2, 3 (Fig. 1) clamped between end plates 5 by rods 4. The rods extend through the corner regions of the plates which are cut away so that header boxes 6, 7 (Fig. 4) may be brazed or welded to the exposed parts of the rods and to the plates 5.
