[Also in Division G1] A device for apportioning fodder by weight into a trough 1 of a sty from a fodder tube 5 located above the trough and having one or more downwardly facing openings 6, comprises a metering container 10 located between the tube and the trough and suspended from a weighing apparatus equipped with an adjustable weight 19 and a fare weight 21<SP>1</SP>, the fodder tube having a pivotable closure device 8 connected to a weighing beam 14 of the weighing apparatus so that when a predetermined weight of fodder controlled by the weight 19 has been dispensed into the container, the beam 14 is deflected causing the closure device to pivot to close the openings 6. The container 10 is mounted on an angled bar 11 so as to tilt about pivot 12 under the control of a lever attached to one end of the container and after return of this lever the closure device 8 returns to its open position under the action of a weight 9<SP>1</SP>. The other end of the container has a coupling member 26 for engagement with a coupling member provided on the container of a similar apportioning device located in an adjacent sty whereby several such devices may be actuated simultaneously. On being deflected the beam 14 may operate switch means to stop the supply of fodder along the tube 5.
